I sure have seen variations of such boards. On one particular unit, I placed jumpers in lieu of errant traces in the number of 6 or more. It gets you to be a bit gun shy of soldering. I tried a few different station settings with the solder gun, and solder removal gun too. Bottom line was to get in get out as quickly as melting would allow. Interestingly, the boards that I was more suspect of some boards (those with the aluminum looking, wavy/wrinkled texture to them) that worked out to be better at handling heat than the neater, higher quality looking ones. Go figure.
As an aside, this also seems to be true in other brands as well. Beautiful, through plated boards can be deceiving. Then, there are those products that use a higher temperature solder, adding to what is already a concern when de-soldering.

I've spent the last few years scanning ebay and CL for the serial number of the last C-1 produced. So far that honor goes to member Zeprok123's "red knob" C-1 s/n 26431. I don't know the date it was manufactured, however, gold98gtp has s/n 26341 which is dated 6/15/89.

The oldest unit I have pictures for is xavionics C-1 s/n 24831 dated 11/11/88. The main PCB is revision E:

Here's  another data point; serial number C1 6520
Board revision  A-3 (written in sharpie)
Lettering in the corner of the board, looks like T.U.I-G F.
There was no date written on the board like my other C-1, so maybe we can estimate the manufacturing date based off the IC date codes, ranging from 8318 to 8327; that puts the latest IC packaging date around the first week of July 1983.
When I was a semiconductor buyer back in 1984, most suppliers shipped normal orders by boat, which could take 10 weeks or more.  That would put the C-1 assembly date sometime in the fall of 1983 or early 1984.
I’ll post pics of the pads / traces after I get the parts pulled.

Here's a couple of pics of S/N 6520

I'll check component values when I remove them since this looks like an early unit.

And a couple more

Looks like this board has plenty of solder on the pads and traces, hopefully this translates into zero lifted pads

Have no idea what the letters mean
