Should i even consider a Sunfire vacuum tube preamp? Would use to drive a pair of class D monoblocks.

Why would you not consider it? It's a great tube preamplifier reguardless of the amp you are using. Have you had any experience with tube preamplifiers or have you had an opportunity to hear one?

I have never owned one, but when i auditioned the amps when i bought them, they were being driven by a Jolida tube preamp. Having said that, i have a low budget for a pre amp unless i can sell off a couple of items. There are a number of tube preamps i lust after (vintage Fisher, HH Scott, Audio Research....), but right now the only thing that would fit my budget is the Schiit Freya preamp, but would much rather find a Sunfire...

Well, I dont often remark on other gear, but if your on a tight budget, THIS would be
what I would get. Coverts to about $700 USD. You would have to check shipping and duty.

You can even swap out different caps, take a look, its pretty cool.
I have owned a few Musical Paradise pieces, all top quality.

That Musical Paradise pre looks real nice, but, as that i'm a input connection whore, three only three inputs on it are a factor..the Schiit has 5. Since i am getting out of the surround sound thing and going back to 2 channel only, if i can sell my multichannel pre/pro and 7 channel amp, i would have enough to look at that Sunfire if any come up  in the range of 1100-1500 bucks. There is one right now on EBAY, but seller wants $2800.00 for it and his written description looks a crackhead wrote it....

That eBay seller previously had his Sunfire up for $1500, which would have been a good price. Now he seems to think he has hen's teeth.

I think the seller that had his listed for $2899.00 must have pulled it again. No longer on EBAY and not in the sold listings.

Search "Completed" listings, if you want to send the seller a message on ebay's message system..., maybe he needs convincing...  Cool

I see it is marked as "Ended", not "Sold".  can't hurt to reach out - worst that can happen is seller says "no"  ... btw, i twas listed twice, the second time, for $200 less.
