I have a re-tipped Technics 310MC coming my way shortly. I'll evaluate it, then post it for sale. No details, yet, except it'll be around $500. It was a costly repair. I hope it was worth it! I shall post my opinion as well.
There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakersare used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Audio Technica made some good P-mounts with line contact tips, albeit MM carts.  Look for any AT1X2LP variants, with AT152LP being at the top of the heap.  LP = line contact P-mount, and EP = elliptical P-mount (not as desirable).

All of the styli within this family are compatible and will fit each other, so you can mix-and-match.  In addition, styli from the AT120 family standard-mount will fit as well; this family includes 125LC, 140LC, 155LC, so even more line contacts.  I *think* the 440MLb will also fit, but best to research that first.
