The UPS man brought the tube amps about 5 PM.. I have them set up temporarily and need to find something to use as bases for them.. In these initial pics both amps are setting on the same pc of glass and are blocking access to the other gear..
I'll see what I can find. The manual recommends having a glass shop cut some from 1/4" glass.. Any cool ideas from you guys are always appreciated.

Here's some pics from the beginning and I'll add some more when I find some bases, and move the amps closer to each speaker..

I installed the tubes set the bias at 80ma, after about 1/2 an hour I readjusted the bias just slightly.. I left them powered up last night and the bias has never moved from 80ma..

I had thought about placing them on lower shelf of the stand, only issue is that the power switch is on the rear panel so that makes it tough to access.

The 7Ts were in this setup and I had the bass control on the back of the Plats at about the 3 o'clock position. The other controls on the Plats at 12 o'clock.. There are no tone controls on the Threshold Fet 10 and no EQ , minimalist other than the C9.. With the tube amps in place the bass was heavy and the first thing was to put the bass control back to 12 o'clock..
The low end has plenty of power even at low volume. Bass instruments seem more independent and seem to have texture thats more defined..
Those were the most obvious things.. I'll listen more today.. For whatever reason, and I don't know why, every time I change setups things need to "settle in" before it gets right.. Thats another reason I left them powered last night.. Not to change my own topic but have any others of you noticed this "settle in" period? Maybe I'm nuts, but it seems like reality.. I've noticed it many times..

First disc was Marion Meadows-- In Deep..
Next was Jeff Lorber Fusion---- Now is the Time..

Very nice indeed. Hard to beat the "new gear giddiness"!

As for bases, I would go to a local countertop fabricator, and have them cut you a couple small slabs from a remnant. They usually have a bunch of rems from kitchen jobs, and they will cut and edge-polish a couple pieces pretty cheap - I'd guess no more than $50 or so...
Too much stuff to keep track of... Currently enjoying Legacy Focus 20/20 pair driven by McCormack DNA 225, BillD C1, and Oppo 105.
