I have a friend that's giving me a Technics Linear tracking table.

My main issue with this is the P-Mount type of cartridge that your forced to use with them.

Is there actually a good Moving Coil cartridge for these P-Mount tables?

I'm looking for a cartridge that will match my SL-Q2's Denon DL-103 L.O.M.C. that I love so much. Cool

I have the same cartridge, needing a retip! It's my fav cartridge for linear tracking TT, I have an old SL-7 turntable I recently pulled out of storage! Currently have an old Stanton p mount on it! I am always looking for good p mount cartridges, they don't make cartridges like the 310mc anymore! That was the best technics cartridge IMHO!

When Bill D did the upgrade on my C1 I had a Technics TT with P mount arm and he reccomended a LP Gear T4P series V. It's a low cost cart with a very nice sound.

I went down this path before. I do not know of anyone manufacturing MC carts for P mounts anymore... I think that the last was Dynavector. I do use a Technics 310MC in my SL-10 as well as the cart that oldtexasdog noted in my SL-7. Both carts sound very good to me.

I just lost a bid on a 310mc on fleabay! I been looking for a reasonable priced one! I'll eventually send my 310mc to Kevin to see if it can be re-tipped and a new cantilever!

Keep your eyes open on eBay! It's not a moving coil but I am happy with my Pickering/Stanton tl-3

Not a MC, but the Grado Gold 1 Prestige is supposed to be a pretty good cart as well. I think if you're looking for a P-Mount MC, you're going to have to search used or NOS to get anything good.

Is this table really worth even using or should I just sell it on Ebay?

I just remember how badly I wanted a Linear tracking table when they came out in 1982 or so. But the fact that most use the P-Mount cartridges bothers me. I would love a Phase Linear or Yamaha Linear tracker but they are way too pricey.

I really like my Technics SL-Q2 that I own two of and a SL-Q3 that also works.

The Denon DL-103 MC cartridge is excellent with the SL-Q2 and I'm wondering if I'm just addicted to turntables? Party!

I run a Pioneer PL-1000A.  I bought it new back in the day.  It is the same TT as the Phase Linear.  It uses a standard headshell.
