Hallo to all from Germany!
I recently bought a faulty PM-700 on our local ebay, hoping to repair and enjoy it.
On taking the cover off, I found that the power rectifier PCB was burnt (see pictures). I would like to repair it or find a replacement. None of the repair shops in the US or Canada have that PCB for sale.
First challenge, I cannot find a schematic of the PM-700 anywhere.
Second challenge, Carver amplifiers are hard to find in Europe so I cannot find another dead one.
So to my questions:
1. Can anyone help me obtain the schematic I need?
2. Alternatively, where can I get the rectifier PCB?

Welcome... One of the techs will be by soon. It seems your pictures did not come through. Would you please try posting them again?

Howdy jerajera and willkommen. That's one crispy critter...

The PM700 and it's big brothers (950 and 1400) were actually manufactured by Phoenix Gold International, Inc. for Carver Professional. Phoenix Gold was sold and reorganized around 2006 and now manufactures car audio products.

There's a working PM700 on ebay right now but that's the only unit I've seen for sale in the last 12 months.

As for the service manual, I've never seen one, but that doesn't mean they don't exist.

Good luck with your quest!

Welcome.  That looks bad.  However,  I think a talented tech could repair the damage if the component values can be determined.

I checked with my manual source and he does not have it.

Good luck.

Yes, welcome jerajera!

I'm sorry to hear (and see) the damage to your PM-700.  Some great tech's here though.

Hope you stay awhile. ...and would love to hear how you got into carver audio if you get a chance....just start a separate post.

Again, welcome aboard the Carver express!  Beer!

Hallo to all.
Today I started working on the repair. First I removed the burnt components and cleaned the board with some nail polish remover.

The PCB is pretty badly burnt in crossection, but only a small area.
