I found this site while doing some research on my TX1-11 FM processor.
A little background - I have been an audio hobbyist since my early teens and it still is a vital activity for me now that I am in my 6th decade.
Back in the day I used vinyl, FM and RTR tape as sources. RTR tape morphed into high end cassette, vinyl morphed into many CDPs, then CDPs with DACs, and now wireless streaming of primarily my own lossless music library to a SB Duet or Touch. FM has been a constant, although the gear has changed from a kit built Heathkit receiver and a Dynaco FM5 to the separate tuners listed below.
My son has my first Carver piece, a C-1. As noted at the beginning of this post, I do have a TX1-11, which is coupled to a Nakamichi 430 (currently) or a Yamaha T-85 tuner. I live in a rural area a long way from my preferred classical station, so sensitivity in the tuner, plus the noise and multipath processing that the TX1-11 can provide, yields a very decent signal. As a matter of my experience, my FM listening is significantly enhanced by the TX1-11 over either tuner alone. As the unit is easily disengaged, I can take it out of the loop for the few strong signals that I can receive.
Speaking of the TX1-11, are there any "inside the chassis" photos on this site?
