That's the remote model I had with my Ultimate Receiver. Beware they eat AAA batteries like a fat kid at the dessert bar.

Vinyl Sales Surpass CDs For The First Time Since 1987
weitrhino replied to iamjohngalt's topic in Vinyl
I don't think this really says as much about vinyl as it does about CDs. They're both dwarfed by soft media and I don't think that will ever change. -
Bob Carver on MQA

As I recall, the C-1000 was the ONLY Carver-branded component Sunfire would service after Sunfire acquired what was left of Carver Corp. I also read recently that Bob originally intended to operate both brands although we all know that didn't really happen. Coupled with your recognition of similarities between the TGIV and the C-1000 it makes me suspect the latter was actually made by the combined Sunfire/Carver. I'm open to learning if I'm way off base with this supposition.

Bob Carver - The Maverick

Someone needs to get H.W. Brands or Walter Isaacson on the case. Both men knows how to write a compelling biography. -

I seriously hope someone is actively working on a biography of Bob -
The Aristocrats With Primuz Chamber Orchestra dropped on June 3rd. The album came about after the band stumbled across the PCO playing one of their songs, and they liked their arrangement so much that a collaboration was proposed. The result is 9 songs from across The Aristocrats' catalog reimagined from the floor up with lush orchestration raising the bar where it had only previously been implied. The album is available on CD, hi-res 24/96 download, and limited edition gatefold double vinyl. Additionally, the band embarks on a 50 show N. American tour starting July 1st. Details at the-aristocrats-band.com Here's the first visualizer video, The Ballad Of Bonnie And Clyde.

"The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side." ~ Hunter S. Thompson

This is an interesting idea as I'm all about music. My only wish would be to drop the alphabetical aspect and not focus so much on extremely well-worn and well-known albums. My $0.02. Carry on.

I'm looking forward to the brand new release from Roa's Ark. The band consists of Carl Roa (Magic Elf) on guitar, Vic Romaine (Steve Morse, Kansas, Nena, etc.) on drums, and the one and only Dave LaRue (Satriani, Vinnie Moore, Pat Travers, Steve Lukather, Mike Stern, Eric Johnson, Andy Timmons, Albert Lee, Ace Frehley, Vai, etc.) on bass. Judging by this new single, 'Joker's Wild,' Roa's Ark goes straight for the jugular. https://roasark.bandcamp.com/track/jokers-wild

I don't use Spotify but I do process payments from them for the record label I manage. There was an interesting transaction this month for a single stream. The line item paid $0.00 so I looked into the transaction details to see the paid rate was $0.0001. Yup, one thousandth of a cent for a stream.

Watch it for Iko Uwais, or better yet scroll up to see my recommendation of Iko's The Raid 2: Berendal

The closest to a ballad they ever came was Night Prowler, the closing track on Highway to Hell

Welcome to your new addiction. The foam surrounds on the flat honeycomb style woofers are blessed with long life, unlike the paper cone woofers found in the Silver and Platinum Amazings. Have no worries, there's still lots of life in them if they aren't damaged now. -

Nick Johnston - Wide Eyes In The Dark As a guitarist, Nick Johnston is eminently capable of bringing the fire but he does so in a way that never burns the listener. Instead, Johnston creates lush sonic landscapes with guitar and piano as the main instrumentation. Put this one on, give it a little volume, and go about your tasks. You'll notice the tune takes you for a ride.
