    Joey Long

Anybody ever hear of Joey Long? I found this on another forum. Apparently Johnny Winter, Stevie Ray and Billy Gibbons have cited him as an inspiration. I must say that I suspect that I know where Billy got some of his guitar licks: His story is an interesting one as well. Found this while surfing for info: https://tshaonline.org/handbook/online/articles/flo76
  4. There are a lot of classical rips. Elvis Presley's "It's now or Never" is "O' Sole Mio." Billy Joel used the melody from Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 8 (Pathetique) for one of his songs (I can't remember which one). Edit: The Billy Joel tune ripped from Beethoven is the chorus of "The Night."
  5. I'm planning to buy a CD copy of the Beatles "Revolver" album. I noticed that there is a 2009 remaster but fear that it's been remastered for ipods. I know that there were UK versions, U.S. versions and Japanese versions (I think). Can anyone comment on the best version to buy?
  6. Interesting thought. I catch myself selecting my best recordings when I want to sit down and listen to something instead of selecting a specific genre or piece of music. I'm listening to my Brothers in Arms recording right now. Love it. The good recordings do spoil one. Thanks to LT for the BST lead. What a gentleman.
  7. Just bought this one yesterday for $6.00 in perfect LP format.
  8. Four of them passed away? Ronnie Van Zant, Allen Collins, Billy Powell and Bob Burns?
  9. Wow. $319.00 for the CD: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BLOOD-SWEAT-AND-TEARS-Father-To-Man-MFSL-24K-SEALED-CD-/350262179144?hash=item518d40b548
  10. Thanks Jim. Will have to check those out. Seems that my jazz albums/CD's are some of the best recordings I have. They also tend to have quiet passages that accentuate a nice, noise-free system. Looks like "The Planets" is a favorite as well. Don't have a copy right now so will be looking.
