  1. There's no rhyme or reason as to how they mount those outlets: prong on bottom, prong on top, I've got at least two pieces that have them sideways. If you're only going to use two prongs quit being so cheap and stick on a two prong connector or just hard wire it in there and then you can complain about no detachable power cord. Frank Van Alstine was funny, he said he finally put in a detachable power cord socket so you can buy your own fancy one and it can fall right out!
  2. The issue is there's a 3 prong receptacle on the amplifier and it specifically states in the owner's manual not to use a cheater plug, make sure to plug it into a 3 prong outlet for safety reasons. A kit amp for enthusiasts is one thing, a production model is a different animal. That's what the ruckus is about.
  3. On page 2 of the Owner's Manual it says not to defeat the purpose of the grounding plug and to connect the amplifier only to an outlet with a protective grounding socket. This is not hooked up on either the CarverFest or production 275s, the third prong has nothing attached to it. Are you planning on providing a safety upgrade to actually put this grounding plug into operation?
  4. Happy Birthday ya snot nosed punk!

      Does (H + A + 2 (P) + Y) + (B + I +R + T + H + D + A +Y)  =  Euclid's Fifth Postulate?

I'm sure it doesn't, but it does equal your "Special Day".

      Happy Birthday !!

    Get Back

The first episode is kind of slow, second is a little different and the third one is really good. They really perked up when Billy Preston arrived. I don't know if they would have had much of an album without him spurring them on.

Last day of the year, last day of my one month Disney+ subscription so I watched Get Back again. When those guys were "on" they were just magic. Thanks for all of the great music, Fabs!

Oh, please. Everyone knows that the real Paul McCartney was killed during the Bay Of Pigs invasion. That imposter guy is actually Melvin Metrick from Liverpool, New York.

I'll probably watch it tomorrow, today it was work and I'm a little under the weather. Have surgery coming up on 12/22, The Alien is living in my guts. Fun fun fun! I've seen a little bit of the roof top stuff before, they really were the best rock band ever. No real virtuosos in the group but they had a magic to them which nobody else has ever come close to matching. I kept waiting for another Beatles to come along and then finally realized they're one and done.

I liked when Paul's daughter started screaming into the mic and they went "YOKO!", that was great.

My guess is that they didn't work like they did in this movie prior to Yoko coming on the scene. They were really under the gun to come up with stuff with all the cameras on them, just taking basic ideas and writing it on the fly. If you're not a Beatles fan it would be pretty dull to sit through 6 hours of it. One thing I learned is that Apple Scruffs was about the fans hanging around outside the studio. Not the most flattering thing to be called by your heroes but oh well.

Quality over quantity and one for each episode so it all works out. In part 2, did you see John start to take something out of his coat pocket, he realized the camera on him and he quickly put it back?

Saw Part One last night. It's fab!
  13. Ortofon 2M Black, a recommendation from Obi many years ago. The crabby old duffer was right, it does everything well.
  14. Just finished all 8 sides of this. I saw him about 10 days before this was recorded and a lot of the tracks are on this album BUT he changed the arrangements on them: different bits thrown in, different tempos, moved the order of parts of the songs around... That must have been so hard to do as this band was flawless and no sheet music on stage. I guess he'd go back to his room at night and mess around with the songs and then rehearse the band during the day so they'd get the changes down. This shows Zappa at the height of his powers, well worth getting.
