  1. Had never heard of a 'harp guitar' until I saw this guys covers of Ozzy, Metallica, Beatles, Kansas..... Here's the top 10 most viewed on his channel.
  2. Yep, didn't see the smaller font items on the right side. As Emily Litella would say.....never mind.
  3. I use Firefox on Macbook Pro, I don't see Notifications under Account Settings, if I click the 'bell' icon next to the messages icon I get Notifications then click the Notification Settings button. Mark
  4. FYI, today I received an email from MoFi about their new MoFi Youtube channel. Mark
  5. Thanks but I saved a copy of a post that showed the cover. Charlie is sending me the file.
  6. I downloaded the .zip archive of the 2014 Carver Site 2 disc reference set several years ago and burned the tunes to cd. I can't find that .zip file and I loaned the cd's to a friend who lost them. I found a link to the file on the carver audio site but it doesn't seem to be there anymore. If anybody has the .zip archive I would appreciate a copy, PM me and I'll send you my email addy. Thanks. Mark
  7. Worked at a local burger joint thru high school and summers the first couple years of college ('72 thru '74), this was on the jukebox, and probably was played 20 times a day. Mark
  8. I have a similar Kunzel / Telarc digital CD, also sounds pretty good.
  9. It's a non-stocked part - is there a reason you need a 105C part?
  10. I bought this when it first released, sounds great. Also available as pre-order at music direct.
  11. Not on the mofi list - Donald Fagen The Nightfly, Santana Abraxas. Mark
  12. I haven't received the email yet, I ordered two back in January. Mark
  13. I sold my new copy of Abraxas last summer for $386 + 14 shipping. Bought it October 2016 directly from MOFI for $107. When The Nightfly became available I pre-ordered 2 of them, and pre-ordered 2 Bridge Over Troubled Waters. Mark
  14. Mostly hi quality CD's (MOFI, Audio Fidelity, DCC), some hi quality vinyl. Some K2 mastered CD's sound great (ELP, Eagles), some not so great (Bat Out Of Hell), probably depends on how good the original master was. Have a couple SACD's and an older OPPO DV-981 that I haven't listened to very much. Bought a Sony CD changer and recorder in 2006 - it makes a bit for bit copy of any original CD, so my CD's only get played a couple times to make copies to use, mainly in my vehicles. Mark
  15. Based on my experience, pre-order from Music Direct. Last year I pre-ordered MFSL's The Nightfly from a 'wholesale' online retailer (Elusive Disc), then a couple weeks later I pre-ordered one from Music Direct. When it was released in October 2017 I got the one from Music Direct very quickly, about a week after release. Several months went by without a word from Elusive Disc - in email communication they told me Mobile Fidelity had some supply issues and since they were a 'wholesale' business their pre-orders were filled after 'retail' orders (like from Music Direct). I contacted Mobile Fidelity and they confirmed what Elusive Disc told me. I also learned that Mobile Fidelity and Music Direct are 'sister' companies. I had given up on getting the copy from Elusive Disc, but to my surprise it finally shipped on Jan 31, over 3 months after release. I pre-ordered 2 copies of BOTW when it first showed up on Music Directs site. Mark
  16. Music taste hasn't changed as I've aged (I'm 63) - mostly classic rock. And like Chops, won't listen to any rap / hip hop (don't consider it music). Mark
  17. I have a Sony CD recorder that makes identical digital copies onto audio cd-r's, so I do have copies of all my discs. Someday I might want to sell the cracked one and it would be worth a little more if I could assure the buyer it wouldn't fly apart or crack into the data area and make it unreadable. And, I occasionally see a rare disc for sale that has this type of crack, so if I can find a reliable way to repair it I would buy it. I don't do wav or mps's except for podcasts. To my ears an mp3 copy of a high quality disc (MOFI, K2) doesn't sound as good as the CD. Mark
  18. I thought about trying glue, maybe I'll put a couple small lines of glue a couple places around the center hole on a CD-R just to see if it still plays ok. Mark
  19. Thanks for the info. Any idea where I could get these? I only found one that looked like what you are talking about, 1.5" diameter, foil backed, but you have to buy 100 of them at $15 shipped ( http://www.demco.com/goto?PRD12888650 ). I can buy small quantities of the full size labels on ebay, $4 for 20 of them. The smaller ones would probably be easier to install. Mark
  20. I have a couple CD's that have one or two cracks that start at the center hole and reach almost to the data area of the disc - attached is an example with a longer crack than one of mine, a Mobile Fidelity Santana Abraxas. I'm a little wary of playing cracked discs since I saw the damage done to a computer CD drive when a disk broke while it was being read. Audio CD's spin much slower than data CD's (500 RPM vs 4000 RPM at 8X speed) so the risk of destroying a music CD (and possibly the CD drive) are likely lower than for a data disc, but would prefer not to destroy the disc. Has anyone successfully repaired a cracked disc? I was thinking about trying a ‘full face’ printable label that covers the entire disc up to the center hole. Full-face CD label Thanks. Mark
