  1. Hey John, welcome to the CSite forum...so glad you found us!!! We love ALL things audio (& video) here and you have a tremendous collection. Yes pics plz! Hope you can stay awhile. ...and welcome aboard the Carver Express! .
  2. Good to see you posting UM!
  3. Not sure what you call this but it's hot off the press. Good friend of my son...Jacob Beck Kinda grew on me. Not for everyone though. You decide.
  4. Hey Phil, This is the 30th anniversary edition hybrid SACD. It will play stereo as well as 5.1 which is draw dropping---especially with that man running around your room!
  5. Definitely "Road to hell" and most songs on that CF disc! then SACD DSOTM
  6. " For now Iam enjoying these wonderful posts getting to know the gang and the Carver way of life. Joey" Great words Joey ! This place is special. Again welcome.
  7. Will, when I upload my pics, sometimes they are turned sideways. I then delete the pic from the site. Then I open the pic on my windows computer into any editing program (I use the standard Windows program that came w/ my Windows 10 dell). Edit something minor (such as shading, lighting, etc.) which will now allow the pic to "save". After clicking "Save", just re-upload it to the CSite. Magic--it's upright!
  8. Absolutely Joey. With your affinity for tubes, you may be interested particularly in the C-19 vacuum tube reference preamp. And another tubed preamp option: Not sure of your price range but Bob also has a nice product in the Sunfire Vacuum tube model. The one's with phono outputs can be a little difficult to find but they do surface now and again. Gotta love the glow of dem' tubes! Again, welcome aboard. Regardless, you have come to the right place as you will get some great advice here with many options to pursue.
  9. Great to have you on board the Carver machine joey. So glad you found us.....from Scotland no less! I picked up this vinyl for my kids and we love it. I have a pic here. Fun getting back into vinyl and introducing the kids to the experience. Hopefully they will carry Bob's products on into their generation. How did you get into Carver creations?
  10. Wow. Great to have you here on the CSite forum, RXonmymind....with a video no less! Very cool. Now that your wife is hooked on Carver/Sunfire, maybe she will be posting in the near future. Welcome aboard the Carver Express...great to have you on board.
  11. Welcome to the CSite KawiPhil. So glad you found us. .....and such a great story with pics no less! We have another Csite member located in Florida ( Charlie ) who also shares similar passions as you --fast motorcycles & audio. You will be right at home here. Again, thanks for a great post. You made my Tuesday morning with that flip flops & audio story my friend. Hope you stay awhile!
  12. Thank you gents. Means a lot coming from such great folks on this site. Only half a century more to go ;-) Cheers
  13. Welcome Almiga! Always great to have folks with your talents here at the Carver Site. Sounds like you have the same Carver obsession as us ... and the quest can be half the fun--short of just listening to the newfound equipment. Would love to see some pictures of that vintage equipment--like that very cool HK tube amp. (Btw, Harmon Kardon was what I started my system with when I first got into this hobby--I always have a heart for HK equipment.) Welcome aboard the Carver express my friend. So glad you found us!
  14. Well, I got home from being on the road and my wife presented me with a nice surprise. My 50th birthday request: Dido "life for rent" on vinyl. This is a hard album to find so the value has gone up as mentioned in this thread earlier. The icing on the cake is that she purchased the Michael Hobson numbered copy edition. These apparently were some of the first stamper edition copy's which were pressed, numbered, and added to his collection from the Classic Records pressing machines. Not sure how true it is but according to folklore: "Hobson, insisted on the “best copies” from the “sweet spot” of the pressing run for his personal archive of 5 numbered copies of each release! It is reported that Hobson personally selected the copies of the records that went into his archive by listening to 1st stamper pressings to determine when the “stamper” was in the “sweet spot” and pressing the best sounding records during the run. Further, these records have not been moved from Hobson’s own climate controlled air-conditioned storage for all these years." I must admit, it does sound great. Better than regular pressings? Who knows. But it's a birthday present I'll always cherish. Thank you honey!
  15. Thanks for chiming in again RTM! Very cool collection over the years. I can certainly relate to your A760x and Sunfire beasts. If you have time, post some pics of your Pioneer gear as well as the Carver stuff. You know how we love drooling over member systems. Again, welcome back aboard the Carver Express!
  16. Jim (or Jason H), so glad you found us here at the CarverSite. Great group of audiophiles who love ALL types of audio equipment with a slant of course toward Bob Carver creations. ...and thank you for the introduction. Always fascinating to hear an individual's journey into this craft. Of course, pictures are always drooled upon; opinions are always varied (yet mostly productive ;--); and the technical knowledge is second to none. Stay awhile--and enjoy the music! Welcome aboard the Carver Express my friend. Cheers
  17. And naturally, it sounds excellent. I'm streaming it via Tidal through the Oppo 105D. That BASS DRUM THO!!!! Now if I could only get it in hi-Rez format such as DSD, sacd, etc I would be in heaven!
  18. Wow! Did not know they released this Williams-Spielberg collection this year, Chops. Thanks for posting! Will pick it up for sure.
  19. Welcome to the Csite forum neptuneslair. So glad you found us!! You are asking the right questions on a quest that will be well worth the research. What is your price range? What do you play mostly--2 channel; surround sound; vinyl, digital, etc; all of the above? Do you prefer a tube sound? Lots of knowledge and tech advice here. Folks with JBL's too. As you narrow your focus, it will begin to materialize just what you desire. Beware though, OCCD is very contagious. ...and welcome aboard the Carver express. Hope you stay awhile!!
  20. Great journey Phil. ...and very cool speakers with beautiful craftsmanship on those stands--WOW. You will fit right in here my friend. So glad you found us.
