aslan7 954
It may have been used before but the sonic holography effect and the guitar riff from "The Ballad of Bill Hubbard" by Roger Waters on the 'Amused to Death' album is spectacular. It is one of the songs I use to test my ribbons for buzz and I was led to it by several members on this site (UM, PMAT, etc.). The dog barks can be heard coming from behind you with SH! (along with the cougar growl) Just a consideration.

I've never tried my amused to death CD with SH...........I'll try it tonite. I always thought that QSound and SH were kind of the same thing....
UncleMeat 1,173
You should be able to hear the sound on "Amused to Death" from beyond 90deg without SH turned on if everything is positioned just right. At Paul's I can hear it, at my place I can't because the room does not allow the best positioning of speakers/seating. I think the key is to have the speakers well away from the walls and seating in the middle of the room, not at the far end of it. Paul introduced me to that CD also, it's the first time I'd heard a holographic recording with sound that gives a placement beyond 90 degrees.

Do you hear "On the Road Again?"
kve777 6,640
Also, how about the sister trio 'Joseph' with "SOS" on their 'I'm Alone, No You're Not' album?
dcl 3,155
Like Kev, I am looking at the reference disc project & finding no female voices. Did I overlook an entry? How about Diana Krall, A Case of You, from Live In Paris? Just voice & piano, exquisite & delicately nuanced.
Maddmaster 957
So are the first 18 tracks the final cut or are the later tracks still being considered? I'm waiting for everyone to decide which tracks go where. Please, no more entries. We need to narrow the list down and make changes where agreed. Here's the list with the corrections Kevin posted. Maddmaster 957
I started a new Thread for finalizing the disc since this one has gotten fairly long.
