Finally Stepping in to Say Hello....

Recommended Posts

Welcome to the site,
Thanks for the pics.......You have a great collection of gear for sure. I too have love for the Polk SDA's. I stumbled on a pair of 2.3 for $350 a few years back. My wife didn't want them, but once we got out to the guys house that was selling them she quickly changed her mind..... Once she saw and herd them she whispered in my ear "OMG he only wants $350 for them"

Love the 9t's..... would love to have a pair of them..... one day..... one day...

Enjoy your gear...... enjoy your music...... enjoy the Carver SiteDancing

For clarity it's usually best to respond individually using the quote function (button at top, far right of each post).

Welcome Dnspy007, glad you decided to join in on the fun.
Thanks for not making us beg for pictures.
Extremely nice system you've put together, also nice list of other equipment you've amassed
I always say "Too Much Is Not Enough".
Tell us what types of music do you enjoy listening to?
Also what are some of your favorite bands/artists ?
One of our senior member/tech lives in Knoxville, Tenn. Brian : "B-Man"

Blues Pwr, your exactly right. "Too Much Is Not Enough". Added another C-1, Tfm-45 to the family this week.(trying to get 2 of everything)LOL..I like the older music 50's to early 90's. Some of this new fangled stuff makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.. Here lately Satriani,Bonomassa,Vai,Blues Saraceno,Daughtry,Chris Rea have been echoing through the cave, just to name a few.......Will post more pics down the road, Thanks Again

Welcome to the forum. Very nice system you have assembled! I too am a carver (obviously) and Polk fan. I won't bore you with my list of Carver gear, but as for Polk, I have an upgraded set of SDA SRS 1.2's, and a full set of LS (LS70, CS350, LS F/X). I have owned Monitor 10's and Monitor 7's as well. Carver and Polk do seem to go well together.

Welcom, and glad to have you here.

Thanks Daddyjt, Glad to be here,  Nice collection, Gotta Love them polk's .........

Doug, after a year of being on the CSite sidelines, we our honored to have you "in the game" so to speak as part of our active forum. You have amassed a wonderful combo of Carver and Polk beauties over the years my friend.  ...& the glass etched Carver/Polk signs add a nice touch.

When those Polk's first came out, I used to drool over the magazine ads showing Dr. Polk leaning on them. I think I even taped a few of those ads up on my college dorm room wall.  Are you running everything at once or do you have A/B speaker switches?  I count 7 speakers up front.  Talk about a wall of sound! Yikes

Tell us about that day in 1991 when you discovered Carver. Dealer demo? Friend's suggestion?

Again, welcome aboard the Carver express--where OCCD runs wild. You'll fit right in. Beer!

Well Jack,  I was just like you drooling over the ads. polk SRS 1.2 and Especially the Carver Silver Seven's. Oh... how I wanted a pair. (still wanting!!) To make a story short...From 1989 to 1991 I worked 16 months in Moscow Remodeling the U.S. Embassy. I was browsing through the AAFES catalog and seen the Carver Audio section. It was worse than porn. I must have looked a thousand times over the months and being I could'nt afford $32.000 at the time, I went with the TFM-42's.I knew the Polk's could handle 1000w. so with a month to go on my contact I ordered them and the other gear had them shipped home...(close to  half price). Got home, Went to purchase the 1.2's auditioned some polk 3.1tl (all they had) ordered some 1.2tl. took the 3.1's until the 1.2's arrived. Took about 3 weeks. Lol (Short version). Been hook ever since. No more surround hooked up. 2 Channel only, Tv runs through CT-17, ( because remote) TFm-45 and the 2.3tl's.. Audio through C-11 (want remote added),Silver 9t's, 1.2tl's. Sorry got long winded, will update when the remodels complete....(Entertainment center)  Thanks  Big Grin
