Look into a transfer, and come over to the laid back coast... It's slow and quiet over here.
We have just as much water as you do as well ;)

Everything that could hurt in the body hurts, I remember doing marches in the Army but wholy cow!! Wow that was alot of walking today. I went out with a 30 year veteran and she taught me the ropes a bit. But very happy and enthusiastic for things to come

Good luck Bryan!  Give it some time to adjust/adapt; you'll be good and strong in a few weeks!  Keep your eyes on the listings, there are lots of other positions within USPS if delivery isn't the career job for you.

I am going to give it my all no matter what, worst case scenario I can go work at the plant, but I have to resign and re-apply.

But all the veteran employees tell me that eventhough its great to be inside a building and all but outside you have freedom and dont need to be hounded over by supervisors.

Next week I trained on the vehicles, really lookingn forward to drive those little mail trucks

Working in the office can be very stressful. I was so thankful with the last census of working out of the office. Between stressful situations and office politics had me knowing the right move to do.

I guess a update is in order... I started weiging a hefty 240 lbs! As of last week 220 lbs this helps me plenty as I have less joint pain from the extra weight I have on me.

Ive had ups and downs but mostly good to great days vs the bad ones. Its no cake I tell ya, extreme heat yes, crazy downpour and back to crazy heat with humidity up the wazoo in the same day... yes.

But I am having fun losing weight and atleast the bills are getting paid. I am still in a small hole from leaving the store which I am trying to chip away. Hoping to buy a house once I convert to REGULAR (rent is getting out of hand 1,450 a month)

I am happy that I can be a part of the American landscape once again (but this time with Mail and not bullets) I wave and honk at little kids see and greet nice people and overall have a sense of joy once I roll into the street to start the route.

and yes I am working Sundays too (thank you Amazon) pretty soon we will become Amazon Postal Service LOL

It is a god-send for USPS to have Amazon's business. It is also an IV for USPS to survive. Tell UPS and FedEx to also sign a deal with USPS. 😉

Yes it is but the IV does not flow fast enough as I have been stranded several times by the old vehicles. They promised new ones by 2020 I guess if I stick around long enough I will tell the newbies about the old cans we drove back in them days

Well today marks my 6 month anniversary with the USPS, from a hefty 250 pounds I weigh a slim 195 pounds, it has been great so far looking forward to becoming a regular and having my own delivery route vs doing a different one everyday

2+ Congrats, glad to hear its working out for you.

You must feel a lot better with the weight off.

Sounds like you're in pretty good shape now, should make the job a lot easier.

So are you going to stick it out ?

Still thinking about transferring to the inside ?

I lived in North Miami Beach for a few years in the 80's got used to heat and humidity, plus there  almost always seemed to be a nice breeze from the ocean.

Its helped me move faster... LOL and no I plan to stay outside as a carrier no need to be hounded by supervisors all day.

Lets see im 32 now maybe I can squeeze in 30 years of service and hang it up?
