kve777 6,674
For you vinyl guys, try this- rub the edge and center(not the grooves) of your records with a dryer sheet before playing. Also cut a dryer sheet to a size a little bigger than the label, with a 1/4" hole in the middle, and put that on the platter mat, under the record. I think you will notice fewer pops and clicks from static. 5 to10 seconds in the microwave oven will activate the dryer sheet, for better results. Be careful, it gets HOT fast!
dennismiller55 4,717
Thanks Kevin, I will give this a try. Pops & clicks is the primary reason I don't play my vinyl very often.
Schurkey 135
A Milty/Zerostat anti-static "gun" works wonders. Mine is a thousand years old. I think they went out-of-production for awhile, but were "revived" a decade or so ago. http://www.amazon.com/MILTY-ZEROSTAT-ANTI-STATIC-GUN-BLUE/dp/B0033SHDSS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1375539792&sr=8-1&keywords=Anti-static+gun
