  1. Hey everybody! Acquired some Carver gear awhile back, now I want more:) Currently have a CT17 and a TFM15cb (which just crapped out). Have a TFM45 on the way (woohoo!) and am looking for a C1 or C19 to pair with it. Super cool to be here. Be seein' you!

  2. Greetings from Charlotte, NC I recently started watching Bob Carver videos and Carver equipment repair videos on YouTube and it re-sparked my interest. I live outside the Charlotte, NC area and started collecting Carver equipment while in the Navy and stationed in Keflavik, Iceland from 1988 through 1992. I was first exposed to Carver amplifiers while going to Navy 'A' school at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis; I listened to a Bose speaker demo at the local mall and they mentioned the system was powered by a Carver amp and needless to say, I was impressed. My collection began with a Carver "entry level" Audio\Video combo unit of which I cannot remember the specific model. As I read more and listened more to friends Carver set ups, I kept wanting to upgrade my own equipment, so, I would sell my equipment and upgrade to the next Carver device. For example, I started with a Carver M 1.0T amp but eventually sold & upgraded to M 4.0T . In the end, my collection consists of One Carver DTL 50 cd player (currently on the disabled list, needs two belts installed) One Carver TDR 2400 cassette deck One Carver CT 7 pre amp One Carver M 4.0T Silver Seven Vacuum Tube Transfer Function amplifier (as my friend used to say in his commercial voice, 375 watts per channel of pure power LOL) As for speakers, I started with a pair of Bose 301 bookshelf speakers, sold them and moved onto something else which I cannot remember and ended with: Bose 901 series VI speakers which I still use today

  3. Unfortunately, I cancelled my Netflix subscription today. Netflix has been the source of hours of entertainment, and perhaps some of the best original content I have seen. Shows like House of Cards, Ozark, Narcos, Longmire, Haunting of Hill House and Santa Clarita Diet. There has not been anything new on Netflix that I have found interesting for some time, but more importantly, Netflix seems intent (rabidly, or so it would seem) to push a political ideology over the development of compelling content. This has been present at Netflix for some time, and I've met it with a mild annoyance. However, the current pace of politically correct programming spewing from Netflix has become more than I can bear. The straw that broke my back is the latest offering "Cuties" - a film that blatantly and unabashedly sexualizes not just minor girls, but girls as young as 11. It's a free world (for now), and if Netflix has enough interest in their audience for this drivel, then more power to them - I'm not angry, more sad, because I know what they are capable of, and I stand perplexed that they have sold themselves so far down the river of "woke culture". Or maybe it's just me...

  4. It's definately not just you. My wife and I used to watch some good stuff but it ended and not much else that interests us. But wait, I heard that the Obamas are settling in as producers of new content. Now that should be real good😫.

  15. If you haven’t used one you are in for a treat. Before I got my bluesound node 2 I played CDs a lot and vinyl occasionally. Now I just stream and there is no going back. It sounds fantastic and is such a treat to use. My iPad in hand and sitting in the sweet spot the musical world is my oyster.

  17. It's not just you. I've been considering it for some time. The thing that's kept me sending them $12 a month is Ozark, and that I have limited storage space for owning more media. I am rapidly filling up with albums, and I'll soon need to rent storage somewhere for the albums I've collected and some of my far too long unused ski gear.

  26. Thank you for accepting my application! I have been meaning to come here for several months now, as I was sent here by another member to read-up on the Carver C1, and a modification called the Bill D. Early last winter, I was selling a subwoofer on the local classifieds. I received a call within a few hours from a guy saying he was interested, but was about 45 minutes away, and couldn’t make it out for 2 days (Toole is about 1/2 hour from Salt Lake). I agreed to hold it for him, and he came out as promised 2 days later. When he got here, I had the sub hooked up to demonstrate, and we listened for a couple minutes to a disc set he brought that is actually from this very site. I was blown away by the tracks he played, and said as much. He insisted that I keep the CD set, as he said he had another. I love the set, and use it a lot. When we went to get the box for the sub, he saw my Polk SDA 2 speakers, and asked if they were for sale. When I said no, he asked why I wasn’t using them. I showed him that 2 of the speaker wire nuts were broken, and that I didn’t have the cable connecting the 2 speakers together any more. At his insistence, we removed the plates that hold the speaker nuts, and he methodically marked and removed all the wires. He said he could fix me up, and get my Polks back up and running, so I trusted him to take the plates. 2 weeks later, he was back at my house. He had replaced ALL or the speaker wire nuts with beautiful gold ones, AND made a new cable to connect the speakers together! He installed all of this, and helped me move the speakers into position. We (mostly him, as I am not up to too much of that any more) got everything hooked up, and I was speechless. That wonderful Polk sound I remembered was back! I have listened to them almost every day since. And on top of all that, he wouldn’t let me pay him for any of it - he said he already had all the parts, and it was an easy job. We talked a little bit about the Polk sound, and he said what if I told you there was an even greater audio genius than Mr Polk? That of course Mr Carver. He told me that Carver made the Polk SDA sound into his preamps instead of the speaker, so the effect could be used on many other speakers. So here I am, looking at the C1. I have a feeling this is going to be a fun place to visit, and I thank you again for accepting me. Brian

  29. Streaming. Sure would clean up the unsightly cd and vinyl storage issue. And free up some space for more Carver gear😆.
