  1. Hey, thanks guys - we are alive and well with little or no consequence from either Marco or Laura. Initially it looked liked both of them might be coming by for a visit but Marco petered out and Laura went well west of us. We got some rain bands but nothing unusual for Southeast Louisiana. I’ve been through a few of these and they are never anything to take lightly. You prepare and then you pray but with 150 mph winds everyone should get the hell out of the way. Again, thanks for your thoughts - I should have poked my head into the site much sooner.

  3. Okay, I've finally passed the Novice level, so I can post pics of my system, and do it on the proper forum!!! As I mentioned in my new member intro, this has been a 15++ year long journey in the making (and I am not done by any means)! This is my current setup in the basement of my new house since my divorce! I am running a Sunfire 300x2, C-16, SDA-490T, TX-12 (going upstairs to bedroom since I don't use this system for radio), TD-1770, BSR EQ3000, Realistic APM-500, MSB Link DAC, and Avid Diva II turntable! Some changes are coming - as I said,

Traveled back to Niagara Falls, NY and started a job in 1982 at Wetrok located in Niagara Falls building janitorial machines such as auto scrubbers, carpet extractors, burnishers, etc. Was promoted to National service Coordinator in 1986 which involved conducting all the in-house and on-site factory training schools on how to troubleshoot our machines for the various distributors who bought our machines. Also, wrote all the operatin

  5. I’ve been happily retired since 2006 and I think I’ve almost mastered it! 🙂 However, in a prior life, after college, I joined the Navy (1967) and served for 8 years and 9 months. When I decided I wasn’t going to make the Navy a career, I went to work as an Engineer for a Defense Electronics Company (1976) that designed and built the Computer System in the E-2B Hawkeye that I flew in in the Navy. I retired after working 30 years for that company and was in upper management at that time.

  6. The appearance of the concrete or terrazzo changes as it's grinded, honed and polished and takes on a darker hue. We either install a topical sealer for places such as schools. Or, install an impregnating sealer in a factory or machine shop. It's up to how the concrete finishers bull float the aggregate mix as it relates to a consistent look of either a salt and pepper (smaller aggregate) look or deep aggregate exposure (larger aggregate). I had one job where they bull floated all the aggregate deep in the mix and had to grind to China to get to the stone! This pic was only pol

  8. I hate to throw this out, but I don’t think it’ll do me any good to fill it out and drop it in the mail. If anyone wants it, just PM me with your address and I’ll mail it. If no one is interested I shall recycle.

  9. This is a different type of work bench. I built it for my woodworking projects. It's primarily an assembly table with space below for all my hand/power tools. It also is the proper height to be used as an outfeed table for my table saw, and it can be split into pieces and stored easily.

  13. The rack was one I bought many years ago, gosh back in the 90's from a store in our mall that sold audio gear and audio furniture! Solid oak, well oak plywood. Definitely not the cheapo stuff you see nowadays! The low stand next to it was the matching TV stand! Bought them as a set. I think I paid over $350 back in the 90's, so wee quite expensive!

  14. Hello, I am new to the carver world and actually just starting to get into home audio. Originally, I had a Yamaha receiver with a klipsch surround sound system which I thought sounded pretty darn good until a friend showed me his setup; consisting of a mxr150 with a pair of carver m200t amps running to some CV 15in pa's. I was completely blown away by how crisp, clear, and accurate it sounded. Needless to say, I now have my own mxr150 and a set of d-5s for now and my klipsch system sits in the garage. I am definitely interested in learning more about carver equipment and expanding my invent

  21. Nice system! I'm very interested in your rack. Did you design and build it, or purchase it if I may ask? I'm finished with building my system component wise, but need to finalize my stereo rack. Still considering options.

  22. Thank you!!!! For us here in East Texas, the storm track moved far enough East so we only got .11 inches of rain overnight here at our place; no strong winds or gusts, and today is a bright sunshiny day. Even though today is my normal mowing day, I think I'll put off that chore until tomorrow. Sounds like the storm surge wasn't as bad as originally forecasted, but the winds have caused a lot of damage in the path of the storm. Also, it looks like Shreveport is currently experiencing high winds and heavy rain; amazing how much difference there is only 90 miles away!!!!!!

  24. Welcome! It wasn't that long ago, that my system was based on a Yamaha receiver. They are no slouch when it comes to sound, but hearing something at the level of Carver gear can be quite an inspiration. I had known what I was missing, but your "friend" @Rob just dragged you to the brink of the OCCD abyss, and shoved you over the brink. Your wallet will shortly be taking a contract out on him. (Well done, Rob - throwing your friends to the lions! I'm proud of you.) The good news is that getting into a Carver based system can be quite reasonable, and the
