  2. Hello everyone my name is Jeffery, I am new on this site and basically stumbled onto it when I was looking to find another 6250 for spare parts or maybe get mine repaired!!! I actually bought it when I was still in the service in 1990 and loved it from day one. I had several sets of very large speakers with it and at the time the only ones that could actually handle the carver was my Bose 901's. Maybe with this sites help I will be able to bring it back to full operation again!!!

  10. United Progressive Fraternity, Planetary Overlord Part 1 was released on April 19, 2019 "I can't remember a collective of 54 musicians and scientists collaborating on an album and speaking out loud their worries about environment, climate change and humanitarian issues before. United Progressive Fraternity is the first “band” in the world to do so, I believe. But “band” isn't the correct description. Once UPF was a band, but when you look closer to this album, you must conclude that when you invite 54 people to work on the album, I think it is legitimate to speak of a project. The album Planetary Overload will contain two parts. Part 1 is called Loss and has been released in the beginning of 2019. Part 2 will be released later this year." You can read the rest of the review here... I think the prog-rock fans will enjoy this album a great deal. I think folks that place a high emphasis on environmental, climate, and humanitarian concerns will enjoy the album too.

  11. My record store guy recommended Nashville's Emma Swift covers of Dylans stuff. She is no Allison Kraus but it's a great recording. As you may expect, it has alot more clarity than Dylan's crooning. And much more patience. A little on the country side of things for the sound but not too much. Her voice. (I play it loud w/SH) makes the tales quite believable and is an interesting take on Dylan. For a taste, check out "You're A Big Girl Now".

  12. It’s not often that I stumble across Jazz that I really like - it’s just not my thing. However, I do like a handful of artists, including Patricia Barber, Dave Grusin, Tom Grant, etc. I just came across another addition to my list - Italian Chiara Civello. She has a flat out beautiful voice, and she sings in both English and her native Italian. More of a “modern” or “smooth” jazz, and very enjoyable, AND quite well recorded.

  13. 60 Miles, Red Light was released on December 15, 2020. "RED LIGHT is the reflection of a period, a time of disillusioned globalization. It is a critical situation where the multiple alarm signals should push us all to change things. 60 Miles echoes these concerns. Not through "engaged" music in the political sense, but simply by evoking the pulse of this society. 60 Miles cannot do other but feel the vibration of its time and share it through its tools, namely the poetry of sounds and the power of the imagination. In a period when all the usual processes are unsure, where the place of music is particularly put into question and the existence of many artists seems threatened, 60 Miles are releasing against all odds their new album: RED LIGHT. Like an alarm signal that resonates from the intimate to the other side of the planet." You can read the rest of the review here... While I certainly don't share their world view, politics, or philosophy, this is a very talented piano led trio. I enjoyed this album a great deal. Sk1.

  14. Ahmed El-Salamouny, Rio Rhythms was released on December 11, 2020. In his album, “Rio Rhythms”, Ahmed El-Salamouny, the specialist for Brazilian guitar music, lets listeners experience the magic of Brazil. The seventeen pieces on the CD are an exciting mixture of Brazilian rhythms delivered in a manner that is at times poetic and dreamy and at times highly virtuosic.
