  2. Setting my sights low, I knew that this could be a wonderful day. This morning, I woke up, and went back to sleep. Present one. Then I went to the medicine chest and looked for the medication that helps keep me from killing people. I was out. Took a deep breath, refocused my eyes and found some emergency spares in a sock that I keep in the garage for just such an occasion. Chewed them like Chocks for kids. Refocused, and drove to Cody for breakfast. The young waitress remembered my coffee with all the additives, and maybe gave a little wink. She got a $10 tip. Visited my mom this aftern

  8. I am not so used to celebrating my B'day in a big way. This time around though, I paid more attention. Took the day, and just did my thing. I really appreciate the enthusiasm given here for members B'days. A change of pace is a good thing. Just heard yesterday about a sort of prank on a stranger. People in on the joke approached him in a bar and wished him a happy birthday. Of course he corrected the first few people. They also pretended to know him from the past, and he finally gave up arguing with them and just went with it. Interestingly, there were a few psychological side e

  9. Congrats @4krow! You're still young enough to go paint the town red - just not enough to carry all the paint cans needed for that. Have a great birthday!

  14. "Trading big romantic gestures in the one moment with impressionist subtlety in the next, the pianist's fingers navigate across the keys with rare conviction, as if he were reading the music off a sheet. In the process, Wania demonstrates relentless precision and effortless speed that appear to be informed by his background in classical music. The conflation of the classical world of piano music and jazz amount to an abundance of nuances, textures and forms in the hands of the pianist, covering a wide range of impressions, emotions and atmospheres in a matter of under an hour." continued

  17. If it weren't for the 'Sony Bond Glue' issue, I believe the Yamahas would be taken more seriously. Fortunately It isn't a problem in the M-50's. I have my eye on an M-85. That series is very robust. More importantly I may be acquiring a 4th MX-130. I'm sure it won't be my last!

  18. I used a Yamaha C-85 pre and T-85 tuner for years with a pair of M-400ts and later with a pair of M1.0ts. I still have the Yamaha gear.

  19. Update on the equipment: In the Yamaha M-50 I found a broken wire in the transformer after being told they never go bad... It's now working very well. I will make any adjustments necessary once I learn how. The other will get the same. I am a fan of these power supplies and had to see how Yamaha did it and lost out to Carver in the process. These particular amps have extremely good numbers. I would like to find a couple M-70's that need work. I have three MX-130's. All parts arrived for them. Bought relays in bulk! The last one suffered an unfortunate event. I was troub

  20. Good morning and thank you all for a such a warm welcome! I like the Latin version of 'don't let the bastards grind you down' A favorite of mine.👍 DrummerJuice you nailed it. I have two Esprits, an '85 and '89. Acquired a basket case '70 Europa S2 a few days ago. I run a Import repair (Esprit Motorsports) by myself and do all my own work, so it makes it all possible. Dennis47. I listened to many speakers with the Carver before buying the Polk Monitor 5's. they put many more expensive speakers to shame. Both sets have the SL-2000's. Brian_at_HHH. I

  21. Same family as the TFM-42/45 and the Silver-7t Note the notched corner on the amp board - as required by the shape of the 7t chassis. (Second photo from NelionAudio) The M1.5 is - I believe - an earlier version of that group, the amp boards are similar, but it uses TO-3 type transistors.
