Hi all! I’ve been an audiophile for 40 yrs now. I bought my 6200 receiver when i was 15. Saved all my snow shovelling money to get ut at my local HiFi shop in downtown Toronto. Been a collector ever since. Great to be here. Thanks! Justin6 points

Good morning everyone. To answer a couple of questions: The coupe was a Plymouth. One of my first cars as a teenager. The Carver gear I listen to is as follows: CT-7 Preamplifier TFM-45 TFM-25 SD/A-450 CD player. TL-3100 CD player TDR-1550 cassette player This is a bi-amped and running a pair of Polk SDA SRS 2.3 speakers. Running flawlessly for almost three decades. A friend stumbled upon this site and sent me your link. Thought I’d look around!3 points

Sad to see these kinds of hijinks, but there will always be the unscrupulous out there. It does point to one really nice benefit that the Bob Carver Corp. offers. When someone buys direct from the factory, they are 100% sure of what they are getting. If I was plunking down $5000+, I'd be very reassured by that.1 point

I've arrived late to this party. Would there be any chance of the 2014 Reference CD taking a 2nd run? Perhaps a 2024 10th anniversary re-issue? OR - assuming Mark would still be interested - should we do a new Reference disc list for 2024? I have some nominees if we do that, and since we've at least a few members over the preceding decade, perhaps some of them would have recommendations.1 point

Welcome, Ben! I hope we can help you get your gear back to proper operating condition. Does the HR-722 fail the same way using the Remote as the power button? Maybe you don't have the remote. It could be the power switch. If Dad had the Hafler 500 plugged into the switched AC socket, the extra draw could have caused contact damage to the switch. If it's acting up using the remote, it could be the contacts in the relay on the power switch board. Also aging Power Supply Filter Capacitors could be causing it to go into protection when first trying to power it on. That's where I'd start. BTW- you will need a decent DVOM for working on these. Please be careful. The filter caps can hold a nasty charge, even unplugged. Don't try to work on the power supply switch area with the unit plugged in. Let us know what you find. Good luck!1 point

Hello all. I am going to restore these and am looking to gain some knowledge.1 point

Welcome to the site! Although it wasn't the HR-772 that lead me down the rabbit hole which ended up here, it was the first piece I ever bought. Used it for a while, then it had some troubles. Marriage, a couple of kids, decided to get it fixed at a local shop. Then it all started! Now I have four Carver systems in my house, well a mix of Carver and Sunfire gear! My son currently has my HR-772 while he is living away while going to college! Stll a power house of a receiver. Remote quit several years ago, but not really into remotes anyway, so not worth trying to rememdy (universal remote may work, but felt it wasn't a need on my behalf!) Enyoy the ride and the people you meet here during your audio journey!1 point

It has come to our attention that counterfeit Bob Carver amplifiers have been sold. Some counterfeit Black Magic 350s are known to have been sold by former dealers that are not covered by Bob Carver / BC Audio in any way. Those without a sales receipt from Bob Carver/BC Audio and not in our records after FEB 2022 have likely been a scam victim. We only sell direct to the customer. Please be warned that genuine Bob Carver products that carry our warranty and service are only sold directly by Bob Carver Corp. Those offering new products sold independently from our customer direct sales model are fraudulent and have no warranty responsibility from Bob Carver LLC.. Any products purchased since Feb 2022 outside our direct sales model may be a fraud. We have complete records of our product liabilities and register our customers warranty at the time of purchase. We know the quality of the products we sell. We can not be held accountable for frauds sold by former dealers acting fraudulently as agents, they lied to you. Please be aware. If you don't have a receipt from Bob Carver/ BC Audio and not in our records data base, you were likely a victim of the audio scam artist that are so common in this industry today. Some dealers have continued to advertise our products in efforts to bait and switch customers looking for genuine Bob Carver products. More scam artist. Be careful of frauds. High end audio is full of snakes and criminals that deceive people as a way of life. I've met a few. It's truly a wild west of voodoo science and opportunist worse than used car salesmen (My apologies to used car salesmen). Do Google searches and or background checks on people before spending your money. Buy direct from the manufacturer if you can. There are many who are honest, but many who are not.. Hear the products in your home to sort through the deep BS that is prevalent today. Mark Levinson refers to "the Audio Mafia" for good reason. Some of the most smooth talking salesmen are some of the lowest forms of human you will meet. They will stop at nothing to get your money, other than a home trial without a restocking fee. They have no concern for causing harm to Bob Carver or our customers, selling products outside our financial benefit, insurance or warrantee coverage. If you feel you may have been a victim, send a copy of your receipt for verification with our warrantee registration. If you wish to take legal action over an unauthorized dealer sale we will be happy to provide documentation. Beware.
