  1. I once got 12 albums for a penny using my cat's name. (For years afterward we got junk mail addressed to "Ginger" Schieding.) Once the time came for me to make the subsequently required purchases and I did not do so... the warning mails started coming....then phone calls. Finally, my mom answered one of the calls and asked them "did you know you made a contract with a 14 year old boy and his cat?". We never heard from them again. LOL.

  3. Julian Lage, Speak To Me was released on March 1, 2024. "Jazz can be abstract when it needs to be, trafficking in moods and colours, and so it is here, where Speak To Me can take us from the papery textures and unfinished thoughts of Hymnal, right into the skronky über-groove of Northern Shuffle and its thrill-ride lead motif that has the character of Link Wray through the wormhole, and then on into the pastoral acoustic melodies of Omission." 4. I liked them. Also BMG. I used to get their CD of the month; it broadened my exposure to different bands. I even did he reel to reel format.

  5. My dad and I signed up quite a few times. It was fine as long as you purchased the expensive album and then canceled. It was still worth it.

  9. From threads on other forums, namely Roon's forums..., this is a function of a few things..., first, simplification. Second, MQA..., the promise is not delivering..., value is diminished..., and third market economics and competition. The competition item, we don't see much.., but globally, there are dozens of services like this that we are blind to, that have genres that we don't generally experience..., the US and "the west" is a smallish fraction of the world's global music when considering how big other countries in Africa, Asia (China/Siberia), Latin America, and the Middle East in aggregate make up. It's big-market thinking, and that helps lower costs for everyone. To grow, these services have to expand, and consider a much bigger picture than what we typically imagine - very smart thinking - and we benefit. No conspiracy theories - just good business.

  10. Blackberry Smoke, Be Right Here was released on February 16, 2024. "They recorded Be Right Here at Nashville’s historic RCA Studio “A” under the guidance of GRAMMY-winning producer Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell). It features ten tracks with the band’s signature blend of rock and roll, Americana-type ballads, and classic southern rock." You can read the rest of the review here...

  12. Some fantastic music posted in this thread! Here's some George Lynch, one of the greatest guitarists in the industry. There are few players you can pick out instantly, and he's one of them. Saw Lynch Mob a few years ago, won a signed guitar in a raffle; have it in a nice display case on my office wall. It's good to see these guys from the 80s still tearing it up! He teamed up with Corey Glover from Living Color (Ultraphonix) and with Michael Sweet from Stryper for several albums. He teamed up with Dino for a few Dirty Shirley albums as well. Saw someone posted a Leo track; this is my fav video from him.
