  1. If you haven’t used one you are in for a treat. Before I got my bluesound node 2 I played CDs a lot and vinyl occasionally. Now I just stream and there is no going back. It sounds fantastic and is such a treat to use. My iPad in hand and sitting in the sweet spot the musical world is my oyster.
  2. Glad you joined us. Nice people here, enjoy yourself.
  3. Was that a facial tick?
  4. Welcome to the enablers club. There is a lot of DIY guidance in the archives and many great live people to help. Cheers mate.

  6. Welcome aboard OS. Enjoy yourself and join in the fray as you please.
  7. When the OP gets his main speakers back I am going to redo his Plat crossovers correctly for him And modify them to be bi-amped.
  8. ObsessiveCarverCollectingDisorder, OCCD. F#*’KN newbies!
  9. For the record, albikes is a complete audio nut job. I met him when he tried to buy some speakers of mine and because of COVID-19 I just dropped them off at his house to audition. His gear made me stop and question reality. We can get into that another time but I left thinking WTF? A few days later this cat drops off a 3 box preamp worth all my gear several times over, and some expensive connects, for me to listen to for a couple of weeks. That’s how much of a nut job he is! My kind of guy. When I get a chance I will Start a thread on some really cool listening experiences. Oh, and he scores an incredible set of modified Mk IV Plats for stupid cheap.
  10. Thanks for joining in. Don't hesitate to join the fray an any topic. Cheers
  11. Welcome, I’m in the North Bay myself.
  12. this whole set from 70 year old Jeff beck at Ronnie Scotts is phenomenal. Super talented group with Vinnie and Tal.

  14. I was surfing Tidal’s newest MQA offerings and found KINGS MOUTH by the Flaming Lips. I was floored by the Sonic Disneyland of this album. I was absolutely blown away by the sonic holography delivery and I really enjoyed the musicality and non-pop theme of this latest album. On a side note, my system is now delivering the best sound I’ve ever experienced. It is also the same incredible goosebump level every day. That’s how I know it’s completely dialed. Many times in the past I thought I had it dialed only to find a day or two later at the magic was gone. Or the magic was only on a few tracks. I’m super excited to listen again.
  15. Welcome Will. You might share a little about yourself when you get a chance. Enjoy your stay.
  16. I like it a lot. Perfect for that mood. Love the instant access to music through Tidal. No waiting on recommendations.
  17. Hi Bill. Those old 802 Matrix are sweet speakers. If you are sticking with them you may see some benefit from the higher power Carvers like your 400 or others. [-- obligatory caution insert-- We will cost you money around here]. I think the shortest route to eargasm would be to buy a refurbed amp from one of the members here. Sometimes a tech may have one hanging around. BTW what other gear is in your chain?
  18. I'm hooked on streaming Tidal Hi Res. I got me centered on the music again. It lets me listen to everyone's records, cds and tapes at the touch of my fingers. The Volume control is on my IPad and sounds great. I can get lost in an artist then delete the links when I tire of it so my interface doesn't look like Zumbini's record walls. I CAN ALWAYS GO BACK TO IT. I have 5 versions of Stravinski's Firebird. It's alllllll about the mood. I play what I'm in the mood for and my choices are vast with this media.
  19. Great intro ? . welcome to the clubhouse.
  20. Hi Mark, welcome to Carverville. Glad to have another Carver fan aboard. Tell us more about yourself and please post some pics of your systems. The database here is awesome. Cheers!
