I found this site while trying to find a company / individual who has knowledge in fixing the older cd players from Carver . I have a DTL-200 needing some help . After reading thru quite a few threads here , I realized that upgrades are available to their amps and pre amps as well . Nice . I'm interested in having my mid eighties items upgraded as well as the DTL-200 being fixed . I did see that a mod on here has a few he is willing to sell which I'm totally fine with if they are still available . I'm going into retirement and would love to hear my system once again after being stored for 30+years . My equipment . Amp is a PM 1.5T , Pre amp is a C4000 , Tuner is a TX-11A and as stated the CD player is the DTL-200 . A big thanks in advance for a site and a group keeping Carver equipment up and running .

Oh , speakers . Polk 12s as mains , Polk whatevers ? as delays . All equipment was purchased at Gordon Miller Music and SoundScape located in Baltimore when I was a youngin .

I remember Gordon Miller but never shopped there. However I have purchased from Soundscape several times.

You've found a great group of folks here in this forum. Welcome to the site. Nice equipment by the way. There also are some great techs here. I have had 4 M1.0t's upgraded and amazed at the sound quality improvements.

BTW I'm in Md too. There's a couple of us here.

  2. Pwr Amps peaking halfway on Bass notes and got my ears ringing. Wifey just came downstairs and said I had everything shaking upstairs. Just think, I was debating adding another sub. LOL   Guess not!

Thank you, I'll try to be active here.

I don't know what I can bring to the table other than background noise.

It's been mostly motorcycles and Gibson guitars (like crazy) recently but I AM putting together a new midget stereo system so that might be of interest to the members here.

I haven't upgraded stuff in a very long time so this will be an adventure.  New speakers, amps, preamp, probably a BluRay player and sub.  Nothing really exotic but things have really come a long way over the years.  It seems like you don't have to spend a fortune to get really good sound (I'm hoping).

Maddmaster, you're still here?  Good deal!

I imagine you've gone through 43 cars by now...

That HK still works flawlessly.  I picked up a little cheapie DAC for it (DI/O) which has worked well.  I'll try it with and without when that WA6 shows up.

I don't have much spare time but today is a 7.5 hour day SO time to listen to two albums which showed up a few weeks ago: an old Root Boy Slim which I've never heard and a PJ Harvey rerelease.

I have to laugh that you remembered how much I was into cars and swapping them. That continued through the years. I think I've finally slowed that roll with my last one. I think I've been through 4 or five since I met up at Hunt Valley for the hand off of the HK.
