RodH 4,859 Posted March 1, 2018 Posted March 1, 2018 Insert picture or video You have likely noticed there is no "insert picture" or "insert video / YouTube" buttons on the New Topic composition toolbar at the top of the post box. You can either copy/paste or drag n drop pictures directly into your post so long as they are jpg / jpeg / png or gif files. Your image will first appear in an 'upload' window at the bottom of the screen, once the upload is complete, click on it and it will load into the body of the post at the point of the flashing cursor. As you add images they will all appear in the upload window. Resizing is available directly by left clicking on the inserted picture and dragging one of the corner frame points to change the size. Also, you can edit the uploaded picture by double left clicking on it which will bring up the 'Image Edit menu. Direct image links Web images: right click on the image and select copy image then paste directly into your post. You do not need the image link location. Resize as required. YouTube Videos Click on "Share" on the YouTube page. The highlighted link will appear, copy and paste. There is no need to get the embed code now. Removing images If you are editing a post and want to remove an image, You must to go to the Uploaded Images box at the bottom of the page and delete the image there. If you delete it only in the body of the post, it will not actually go away. 8

Since your account is new, there is a (hopefully) short probation period where your account has limited use for security purposes. Once you receive more than 5 reputation points, you will advance to 'Novice' which will permit you to upload pics. We encourage new users to start an introduction topic in the 'Party Barn' - it helps to get past the 'Inbound' status in a very short time.
Walrus Gumboot 349 Posted August 24, 2020 Posted August 24, 2020 What if I am a Novice and still unable to upload even a single photo from an iPhone? "You are only allowed to upload 1,003.52kb"
Sk1Bum 10,732 Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 I can't answer that as I've never used an iPhone for net access. The only iPhone I've had was a III. I replaced it with a Samsung Galaxy, and I've never looked back. 1 1

That would depend on your camera. Here's a link to an easy to use, freeware image editor. https://www.getpaint.net/
Half Life 177 Posted February 21 Posted February 21 Good evening, I started a thread (Magnepan MG1 restoration). I was able to upload 1 photo (roughly) 700k. I added a "reply" to continue the discussion so I could add another photo (i have about 16 more or so). When attempting to add the 2nd pic the system says UPLOAD FAILED. However, I was just able to load a 14k file to this message. Is the 1M limit per pic or per topic? All other pics are 700k or less. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.
Sk1Bum 10,732 Posted February 21 Posted February 21 Without looking over your shoulder as you post, it's hard to tell what you're doing wrong (if anything). Net gremlins live, so you may not be doing anything wrong. I use paint.net to resize photos. It is a very good freeware image editor, and you can download it here: www.getpaint.net You can also download the app at the Windows store. The 1mb limit is per post. If you use paint.net to downsize your files, you should be able to add 3-4 pics per post. 4
Community Admin AndrewJohn 9,722 Posted February 21 Community Admin Posted February 21 What I have found best is to just open a photo (in a browser, with windows photo viewer, whatever you use to look at photos) and on Windows 11, use the screen grab tool native to Windows 11, grab it, then cut it to the clipboard, then paste it into the thread editor. I've never had an issue..., and, well, it sure beats opening up a file and using paint or photoshop tools to resize it... I've also got pretty good at using screen-capture on my phone, in my photo's library, zooming into the portion I want to show or emphasize, then use the two-button thingy to grab the view of the screen, and instantly share it to myself (I just email it to myself) then on my PC, I open the email, preview the image, use the screen-grab tool above, and cut and paste. Easy peasy. The icon for the screen grab, actually called "Snipping Tool" tool in Windows 11 is: If you are on a Mac, I'm told there is an equivalent app that can be used in the same process. 1
