There will be mental vindication when you run across some of the idiots we talked about. ?

Find a good tax person / accountant. Start keeping a mileage log in your vehicle to track ALL work related mileage - including travel to Carverfest. Keep every receipt and note on the back who / what the expense was. My hunting buddy does this for the properties we manage and hunt on and it is amazing the amount of $$ his tax guy saves him every year - completely legally. You guys work for it, Uncle Sam is going to try and take what he can - it's up to you to protect it !!

I won't say good luck - this isn't about luck. It's about drive, skill, brains - you two have all of that in spades !!!

OK, we know that pictures make the thread...

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that Greg should post a picture of his "bench" here?  a.k.a. his new workplace?

Yep - I'll do that once I get my matting replaced. It looks like shit right now.

When I set out on my own, my wife & I busted azz,  moved everything in, set it all in place then...took two weeks off. Perhaps not what some would counsel but it was never about the $$$. As she said, "If you ever start talking about this statistic, or that, I will do two things: 1. Kill you. 2. Then divorce you. Find your 5HI7 on the lawn."  That was a polite way of saying , Follow your heart.

Wishing you both continued success & every happiness.

  • 2 weeks later...

I was quite sick last week, still recovering. Worst flu I've had in a decade at least. Anyway, we've been busy. Turning over repairs and mods, cutting and splitting wood for the winter (yeah, I'm late) and loads of prep work for the business.

I'm ready for scheduling work. I no longer have a year long waiting list. :D

I also take everything - even outside of Carver. Prices are negotiable right now, as I don't have all the resources I need, but getting there.

Peace!

@Bean The console looks interesting...but I think that beast is all yours!

Also, For what it's worth, my new phone number is 231-388-2309. This will be Nelion Audio's service number.

LOL.... yeah, I'm bringing home a label maker tomorrow from work so I can start labeling and disconnecting things so I can pull the tube amp out to check the tubes, get more pics, and clean the chassis.

Then the tuner and input selector will get the same treatments.

I'm leaving the TT for now, if I remove it, I will just clean it up so it looks brand new, its not ever going to be used.  If it "does" work, thats a plus just so I can know its fully functional, but thats it...

So Glad I found Greg over a year ago for my Carver amp repairs! He is a great guy and very talented. To date Greg has upgraded all five of my M500t's to MKII, refurbished a pair of Silver 7t's and just restored the M4.0t I fried with my Carver Originals "Amp killers".

Thanks for breathing new life in all my aging audio gear!

Hello 67bird, and welcome to thecarversite.com. We're glad you're hear. ;) There is a lot of information here, much technical know how, and a pretty good bunch of folks that are happy to help.

That's quite a selection of top tier amps you have there. You've come to the right place, and many will warn you about the enablers here, but it looks like you're plenty able already. :D

Once you get the needed permissions, please consider uploading some pics of your gear in the Members Systems area. We all like pics of all kinds of audio gear.

So kick your shoes off, turn up the music, and welcome aboard.

Now that you let the cat out of the bag..., you MUST post a picture of the 5 M400t's..., and that entire rig.

We're now curious!
