I think that's probably the most decisive and adamant post I've seen from you!  One gets a pretty clear impression that, perhaps, just maybe, with a touch of possibly, you aren't too keen on that one.  I must admit I agree with your sentiments.

I think we are in quite safe hands with Greg, on this.  He's not just an admin or moderator, but a very active user, and he's not likely to impose things on us that would get on his nerves.  Another example of how "this" is a good place to hang one's hat.

Okay, so I didn't complete the update yesterday because this new update is going to break some of our customizations. It's much more extensive than the norm, so I have to do some research, backup some

Major new engine update is available. I'm going to have to do some research and ensure our 3rd party plug-ins will survive (like our live chat). I'll post a notice with date and time of the update, wh

Thank you gentlemen!   There's a lot that has changed, although many of them may not be important to your typical visiting experience. This is just part 1, I'll post more changes as I filter

Yes, once cannot mince words when one contemplates their forum comfort, and I am glad to know that our overlord here is benevolent.

I haven't completed the research to find out what kind of speed bumps there may be, but I don't expect any problems...just appearance changes that might be jarring.

We shall endeavor to understand.

Not the hot-pink background and flourescent green lettering, again.  You promised not to bring that back!  **))

I'm quite sure it will be just fine.  Perhaps a "slight" adventure, but I've no doubt you will have given it a through test-drive, if only to keep us PITA's off your back.  :)

Good luck with it, but don't kill yourself over it - make sure you take enough time for Nelion and family.

The forum is updated, however, the Awards are not working for the time being. The Dev is working on an update.

The upgrade also broke our custom theme, so I'll have to fix that. You'll see some thing are out of place, hard to see, etc. Please hold on reporting things...let me get a grip on some of the more obvious things I can fix.

Well, this is going to suck. This update broke a lot of our customizations, so it'll be a while before things return to normal...and I'm afraid it won't go back to exactly what we had before, in terms for appearance.

..Hashy, please consider the green and blue combination..thank you for all your hard work..

It's not my doing. I'm trying different templates because our former theme (the template that controls how things look) doesn't work anymore with the new software update. I'm not going to spend too much time on trial themes. Once I find one that works for us, then I'll customize it further and provide an update.

The one up right now looks pretty good, at least at first glance.

Take your time - it'll get there.

Anyone wanting instant fixes, should go lick the main power line terminals coming into their home!

The appearance seems quite nice, with perhaps the exception being the posting controls; mine seem to be light gray upon gray, and the contrast is not quite enough for my fatigued eyes.

Performance appears to be much improved. Switching between threads, selecting between older and newer pages in long threads, and image loading - all far better.

Yea, verily, it appears our forum mage has ascended a level.

All,

I've been trying different themes and making tweaks. I have a couple you can try. Let me know what you think of the themes. Just go all the way to the bottom of the page and select 'Theme' then choose one from the pop up menu. You can change your theme at any time.

Here's a short list of what I've seen so far...

Default > Con - Too bright, everything is centered in the middle of the screen

                Pro - Easy to read

Bravo 6 > Con - Some colored fonts hard to read, everything is centered in the middle of the screen

Pro - Background is easy on the eyes

Vuex > Con - Some colored fonts hard to read

Pro - Background easy on the eyes, theme stretches across the entire monitor

My pick is Vuex; obviously a bit of tweaking is needed but overall Vuex and Bravo 6 could work for me...

This all based on my Acer CZ380CQK 38" 4K UHD monitor...
