Site Protection

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

With the recent site problem, I have some questions that IDK is worth asking.  First, is it ok to discuss in one forum about the malware attack on the site?
2. Why is the site picked for hacking? Is CS better than FB or any other dull, colorless & monotonous Audio/Electronics forum sites?
3. What did the hackers benefited? Are they jealous of the site? Did they get any diodes or capacitors for free? ☺️☺️
Do you think CS is ready for another level of discussion such as tackling things like spoofing.  If knowledge is power, maybe there are members and subscribers out there, with a good heart or idea, who can contribute something to better protect CS.  Just asking.

Thank you.

Our host was attacked by malware, not CS specifically. Attacks of this nature are commonplace, and FB and Google and Amazon ALL deal with it as well. However, they are multi-billion dollar organizations with many strategic infrastructure fall backs and redundancies.

I have taken measures to prevent password cracking, and the admins will be going Dual-Authentication.

Why is the site in danger? Because it has enemies. And also because it's a website with a lot of recognition so exploiters always want to take a peak to see if they can get some goodies.
