Sk1Bum 9,881
Milégé, Afwoyo was released on June 12, 2020. "Milégé is a group of young talented musicians who derive inspiration from the diverse cultural musical traditions of the different tribes of Uganda, which they fuse with contemporary elements. The group writes: “We derive our name Milégé from the ankle rattle, a bell worn round the ankle to create rhythmic sounds that compliment dance performances." This instrumentals of the remind me of Sade's backup musicians, and the lead singer sings with the same style as Sade, very smooth, very controlled. This is African jazz, African rhythms, and very enjoyable for these old ears. I hope you like it too.

Sk1Bum 9,881
Tony Davis, Golden Year was released on July 17, 2020. “Golden Year” is the excellent debut album from young American guitarist/composer Tony Davis. Sk1Bum 9,881
Deep Purple, Whoosh! was released on August 7, 2020. "A full 48 years since the release of their stone cold classic hit ‘Smoke On The Water’ and with enough line-up changes to put The Fall (or the Sugababes – choose according to your own personal taste) to everlasting shame, Deep Purple have managed to wade through the rocky waters of the entire history of heavy metal and always come up smiling (inter-band bickering aside)." Sk1Bum 9,881
JW Jones, Sonic Departure was released on August 14, 2020. "Hot shot Canadian blues guitarist and vocalist JW-Jones turns COVID-19 isolation into musical inspiration on his new release Sonic Departures. The set dropped August 14th, 2020 on Solid Blues Records and proves beyond a doubt that Jones is still fired up even though the virus has interrupted his touring life. Jones won the title of Best Guitarist at the 2020 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee and was anticipating a big year on the road before the pandemic shut the world down. Instead of declaring the whole year a wash and waiting things out, Jones forged bravely ahead and completed this album from tracks that his band had recorded last year in The Before Times. The resulting set is nine songs of guitar, vocal, and horn section glory that will keep a lot of blues fans going until live shows come back." His solo albums have always drawn not only enormous interest from fans and critics alike but also showcase the collaborative spirit that is integral to Shankar’s art. Sk1Bum 9,881
Tokyo Motor Fist, Lions was released on July 10, 2020. "It seems like only the other day that the debut from Tokyo Motor Fist dropped – the band that features Danger Danger singer Ted Poley and Trixter’s guitarist/producer Steve Brown together with bassist Greg Smith (Ted Nugent, Rainbow, Alice Cooper) and drummer Chuck Burgi (Rainbow, Blue Oyster Cult, Joe Lynn Turner). With no new music likely from either Danger Danger or Trixter on the horizon this might well be the best fans can hope for. And if you love that party/blue sky/uplifting very melodic style of Hard Rock then you are in for a timely reminder of just how good it can be…. but you won’t be prepared for just quite how good."

Sk1Bum 9,881
Stonila, Stonerotica was released on May 4, 2020. I can't find a review anywhere, so here's my take. Stonila is a Greek, hard rock, instrumental band. Their sound is almost heavy metal, but maybe not quite. They remind me of The Four Horsemen somewhat, and maybe some Wishbone Ash. I will play this several times for a few months, and then it will probably drift into that corner of a hard drive that doesn't get accessed much, kinda like the farthest corner of a spare closet. This one gets a 7 on the Sk1Bum 10 point scale

"Seasick Steve has just released his gritty, new, foot-stomping album, ‘Love and Peace’. Powered by authentic country riffs, earthy blues tones and his own laid-back style, the 12-track album is cohesive in the best of ways. ‘Love and Peace’ lives and breaths in the infectious pull of every distinctively zesty backbeat, giving Seasick Steve the room to do what he does so well."
