Remember when this was cool?

I had a 2270 receiver, I know, I know, havent you had anything but receivers (nope, havent),  but I loved it. Rocked my JBL 166 Horizons at the time. Loved that big ol' FM tuning dial. So easy to dial in weak stations. Always liked the looks of their turntables also but never had one. So...i also say.... buy it Rod!!! A little out of brand but who is keeping track.

When i get more sophisticated or when my R2000 (35 years+-) acts up I will need advice on where to go from here guys.

Buy it! (if it's a good deal $)~^

@RodH belts are easy to install even without a manual.

I have a Marantz model 5220...excellent sound quality for a cassette deck.

These decks look awesome with optional cherry cabinets.

The first system I bought was a Marantz 1060, AR turntable, and AR4a speakers. for the first time in my life I heard what music was really supposed to sound like.

If you don't buy it, and smuggle it into the house, you lose your Spy vs Spy sticker. :D

I have no use for the 4 cassette decks already here I'm afraid.

Going to pass.

Reminds me to much of the cheap Fisher "Studio Standards" with the gaudy colors. Now the Marantz receivers do look nice.

I have a vintage Marantz SR5100 Gold receiver rated at a whopping 65 watts per channel.

The SR8100 was only rated at 90 wats per channel...big wattage in the day! lol

The only problem with it is the stereo knob has to be messed with to get both channels to work...probably just needs a shot of deoxit.

Can't fiqure out why I can't upload a pic in jpeg format....may have to compress the file?

Hi Aceman- I think that the file size can be a max of 500kb. I use an app called Lit to compress what I post. Please post a pic of that mofo!!!!!  Its always good to step back in time a bit. Thanks.

Back in the day, before anyone else had figured it out, I bought a 4 channel Marantz quad receiver for my son. didn't cost much and was beautiful. HT was taking off and 4 channel was dead. Didn't tell anyone otherwise, and bought it.

CRAP!!!    I am sure that you are NOT aware that this gear is illegal and must be shipped to a qualified carpetbagger, err expert to inspect for safe keeping until the issue has been resolved. Fortunately for you, I have just received my license to perform this task free of charge. You dodged a bullet there mister. BTW, is there any other illegal equipment that you might have in your possession?
