Hello,

I'm new from the southern half of Michigan. I recently built my first sound system back in 2018 after acquiring my

first AVR (Denon AVR-X1400h). I ended up scoring a used Canton GLE 455.2, Diamond Audio Macdaddy 12.8 12" DVC HEX, and some

icky Sony tower speakers which have recently been replaced by a pair of Dahlquist QX-5A. I'm pretty happy with my 3.1 stereo and frankly see no need for 5.1 for the moment.

I have been really into used speakers and equipment. I simply love the fact that a speaker can be 10+ years old, sell

for 20% of its value, yet sound better or as good as things that would cost you 2x or 3x more.

While I don't own a craver product, I have seen them floating around within auction sites, and am certainly interested in vintage speakers & tech.

That said, I'm glad to be here!

Welcome to the site Morz!

There are a number of rabid Carver fans ( site members ) in Michigan, I'm sure they will be happy to help you connect with some Carver gear!

No Carver gear eh? My bet is that will change. :D

Once you get to Novice status, please consider uploading some pics of your gear in the Members Systems area. We all like pics of all kinds of audio gear.

In the meantime, kick your shoes off, turn up the music, and welcome aboard.

Welcome to the group!  You are definitely in a bit of a Carver hot spot in that area, so you are very well placed - you will most likely find yourself acquiring something Carver before you know it.

Nice system and some very nice upgrades happening.  Yes, playing with used speakers is a fantastic way to discover what sounds best, and at a far lower price than buying anything new.  Speakers, unless abused, can hold their own surprisingly well through a long lifetime.

Like with the speakers, Carver components can be an amazing way to really up your system at a very good price, and since they are usually so very update-able, they have a good long life ahead - especially compared to today's throw-away systems.
