We found a 6250 at a thrift store that I am sure will need cleaning at the least.  I hope to start that project soon.  From what I have read so far it looks like a careful disassembly and blow out with canned air and some alcohol and q tip work is most of the work?  I have some pictures but can not post them yet, but plan to as soon as i am able.

Looking forward to the project and input from members here

Hello Drifter1151, and welcome to thecarversite.com. We're glad you're hear. ;) There is a lot of information here, much technical know how, and a pretty good bunch of folks that are happy to help.

A gentle cleaning is a good place to start. :D

Once you get to Novice status, you'll be able to upload some pics of your gear in the Members Systems area. We all like pics of all kinds of audio gear.

In the meantime, kick your shoes off, turn up the music, and welcome aboard.

Welcome to the group!  I always loved the aesthetics of the 6250, so congrats on your new acquisition!

Here's hoping that a quick cleanup is all she needs to start running nicely.  As silly as it sounds, watch out for missing pre-out/power-in jumpers - that's always a favorite reason for someone selling off a non-working receiver.  B|  Good luck on the project!

So is rebuilding the Klipsch speakers the next project after the 6250?  :-k :D

I the mean time, join in the chatter, and enjoy the music.
