Well everybody. I think it is time to brag a little, which I normally don't do because I am not that kind of person but the amp is finally done and a great big thank you to Greg and Jenny. You guys are awesome for allowing me to receive the first upgrade.

I don't know much about the history of the amp before @BarryG but I do know that it was his and then @kve777 who then sold it to me. I will keep this amp in the community. I have been camping all weekend after picking it up from @Nahash5150 so I haven't been able to listen to it yet. That will happen tonight. The 4.0 is an amp that I wanted for many years and finally acquired a few lately but a Super Charged 4.0 is even better

I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday and also if it isn't a holiday for you, then have a great Monday.

Thanks Again @Nahash5150

Awesome amp!

The 4.0 is no slouch to begin with (375w at 8ohms; 500w at 4ohms I believe).

Do you know what the output power is with the Mk-II upgrade?

Since its essentially the same amp as a TFM-4.0 and TFM-45/-42, can the Mk-2 upgrade be done to those?

I bought that amp off Craigslist, with a ct-seven and Dtl 3200 for $300.  It played ok but knew it needed an upgrade when I traded it to Kevin!  I know nothing of prior history.  Glad to see it upgraded!

Iirc that is the amp that needed all service bulletins.  I think it had an air capacitor on the power supply board.  I was looking it over and saw two little wires sticking up, looked in service manual to find out what it was.

@Nahash5150 did you test this to see the output? How many WHAT"S  |-| per channel do these upgrades add to the original rating?

It tests at 500W/ch into 8 ohms.

...

What has happened here on the Carversite!??!!?!?!!

I thought it was all about how it sounds, not the specs! :D

What if we said "It's the Best Sounding 500 watts you've ever heard from a 4.0 !!" ~^

It is definitely a great sounding amp. I couldn't listen to the whole 500 watts but it doesn't take much of a turn of the volume knob and you can feel the power.

SOUND + FEELING = HAPPINESS

Awesome amp Greg.

Ok,ok. Fine. Go ahead and drop it off before you go to work and I'll try to use up most of the headroom for you. If not, well it gives me a good excuse to get another set of speakers if they blow😁 Really though, it sounded great before, I can only imagine what it sounds like now, will need a demo sometime soon. Congratulations buddy

Ok, say tomorrow about noon. But I'm not responsible for the damage it causes. 😂

Uhm guys. Disclaimers no longer work. Just ask the gun, auto, and toy manufacturers (and probably many others).

Just think, this all started as an innocent question, and it turned ugly real fast.....

Can't we all just get along and play well together?  Heard about a guy@Sk1Bumthat knows someone with a switch that we might need to employ to get the kids to settle down..-X-
