I hope that it is possible to 'take a breath' every now and then. Been listening to a little Joni Mitchell lately to calm things down.

I have Joni in my playlist Neil young , CSN and many others.  Pink Floyd under influence of morphine was interesting!

I will help as soon as I am able. No better cause than this. Pray for the comfort about that which is out of your hands.

It's no fun being in a hospital...unless you make it fun somehow.  :D

Update January 21, 2023

In December I had a 10mm titanium rod

Inserted in my left femur. To repair a hole caused by myeloma which had metastasized to my bone.  In getting physical therapy things were improving nicely until I injured my right shoulder.

Initially, we thought it was a fractured collarbone, but in addition to the clavicle, I have a torn rotator cuff, which put my physical therapy on hold. Suddenly I had

New pain in my thigh, which led to x-rays than an MRI on my back. Apparently cancer has metastasized to my to my lumbar vertebrae. In fact, my entire vertebrae, except my neck is affected by the myeloma. The next course of action is daily radiation over the next few weeks to my L4 vertebrae.

I am in severe pain and hospitalized for pain management.

Anyways, I wanted you guys to know what was going on and why I have been absent for so long. I have been hospitalized since before Thanksgiving. I really want to go home. I realize that my time living alone is limited and will probably will be in assisted-living in the not so distant future.

I hope you guys have a great day!

Hi Barry I’m fairly new to the forum and I only know about you through your past posts (which I’ve enjoyed).  I want you to know that I’m also praying for your full recovery and I’m so sorry you are in this situation.  I also contacted a few of my friends that are god fearing men and asked them to add you to their prayer list as well I hope thats OK.  I’m also very impressed with the support you’ve had from the people on this forum.

Best wishes Chris

February 11, update!

I am out of the hospital for now.  I am in a rehab facility that’s looks like will work with my upcoming chemotherapy treatments!

I’ll know more on Wednesday!  I need a follow up With surgeon, my leg is looking good. the radiation has helped pain in my shoulder and spine!  Surgeon needs to determine if I need surgery on my shoulder, being right handed and right arm incapacitated is not easy.  Siri does not do speech to text is not all that great, part of that might be lack of clear speech from all the morphine I’m taking.  I hate this drug!

Emotionally I am very happy today!  I had a visit with my grandson Jacob.  I had not seen him in 2 years.  First visit with him since his mom passed on Dec 15.

i need a haircut though!  Some of you may have met his older brother Jeremiah at Carverfest in 2015!

Things are finally looking up!  I’m feeling ok pain is managed well!  When I get home I have a lot of gear to liquidate!  I have not forgotten those of you I promised gear to.

@Will Meyeryou are number one on my list!  I’m having PayPal issues when I tried the refund, I think my bank made a mistake snd the return caused multiple overdrafts!  First day out I’m heading to my bank to see what is up! I am considering using Zelle in the future!

thank you everyone for prayers and words of encouragement!  It has been helpful.  Being part of this community has been great.  I’ve been on the Facebook group page as well!

let all the beautiful music heal your soul!

thanks always to Bob Carver.  May you. All have a safe and fun super-bowl weekend!

Barry, I am happy that you get to see your grandson. Grandkids are precious and it is very hard to be away from them.

Looks like progress in the making. Man, I wish I had a mane like yours!

Grandkids are awesome, Jacob is special, he loves music of all kinds, plays four instruments, he wants to play an upright bass next!  He understands why I like and strive for good sound.  His brother just wears earbuds snd he is happy with that.  I can’t wait to show off my open baffle system with him.

as far as my mane is concerned, it is not stunted by chemo one iota!  I can go from this to current in 4 months! Photo with cousins from Mississippi!  This was taken right before I was diagnosed with cancer!  Chemo has changed texture and added a lot of grey!  Cyndy the one showing peace sigh, was diagnosed with lung cancer about the same time, so far she remains in remission!  I am lucky we have a large loving extended family!FD84086A-0336-434E-A2BE-B32D98A608C8.jpeg.92f727737988f67507a26d8b3a93e051.jpeg
