Ar9Jim 3,863
I get asked how Bob is doing every day. Sometimes It's due to wild rumors that are at conflict with reality. Much of this has to do with a guy that claimed to own Bob Carver Company for a time, while actually owning a percentage of a different company that built under license for a couple years, before closing due to supply chains issues, covid issues, etc. I insisted that this ego driven "I own Bob Carver Company" charade, come to an end, for the health of this company, before coming on board. This ego can't believe that he was not invited to be part of Bobs new company, saying bazaar things about Bob's health, and absurd statements about others, who genuinely have Bob and his companies best interest at heart. The imposters giant ego can not accept that Bob is in a good state of mind, and in a good place, as if parting of ways was a sure sign of illness, rather than a great discission. This results in many rumors and cruel un-true statements on-line.. Bob still has his drivers license and comes and goes. He meets his friends for lunch and enjoys his time. I talk to Bob and his wife every couple of days. Bob and his wife are a great team together. There is no conspiracy for gods sake.. Bob and his wife are soulmates and talk about everything together. They are great. I'll be staying at their home with them, for a week while working with Bob on voicing of the 285 and V12 in his lab. I'll be sure to get plenty of pictures and some video. You can see for yourself how Bob is doing.. Bob is over 80 yrs old, so he is advanced in age (it happens). He is doing good and having fun with the new company. Two questions were asked today, questioning Bobs well being and involvement in his own company.. Bob and Peggy own it. Bob is Physicist and Chief Design Engineer, he is my boss. No one took over Bob Carver, other than Bob Carver himself. Bob is back, and in control of the companies destiny and legacy, as it should be. Its hard to say, what is said on-line. I don't visit other sites. Feel free to re-post this in response to the rumor mill. Ar9Jim 3,863
If you would like to ask Bob a question, I'll read the questions/comments in a video, and Bob can answer your question. I'll post the video of Bob answering your questions by name here on the Carver site. Edited March 6 by Ar9Jim 1

AndrewJohn 6,316
Thanks for the update, Jim. This is Absolute TRUTH! Like several of you, who know Jim well, this transition, and dealing with the specific "ego" referenced here, has been surreal. Then, one remembers, we're in the "internet age"..., and anyone with a smart phone can post anything they want. And, like Kardashianism, it's believed by a whole population of the gullible. Gotta' practice "discernment" and "filtering" (and teach your kids how to)..., it's the only way to survive today. The "noise and static" gets to live alongside truth and gets algorithmically pushed into the streams of the easily conned. It sells "clicks" and strokes the ego(s) of those that can't create. Bob is a physicist and a creator. And he doesn't play that game..., nor does he even waste a second of time to get involved with it. A good example to model one's own path through life after. Thank you, Jim. 2

Ar9Jim 3,863
Thanks AJ! Its great to get some truth mixed in with the rumors and speculation where ever they happen. Many of you know how challenging this has been as close friends. I appreciate all of you. This is one reason I use the chat box, to tell The Carver Site members what's going on at Carver, almost in real time. You can follow the journey and ups and downs of manufacturing. It's fun to see Bob having fun at his age. He loves it as much as ever. Bob is a world class designer and built a world class team of manufacturing engineers to build his legacy products to world class standards. 4krow 3,868
I have scratched my head since I was a little kid watching those who speak loudest get the last word or the biggest audience. Especially those who command authority by way of megaphone. "I have been doing this for 40 years!" does NOT impress me. Someone once told me that I was gay because I am left handed. Wow. And then stated, "It's a scientific fact." She was not embarrassed either. I could list endless lies about this or that, yet in the end it hurts when people do this. But some of these people are truly sick. I can get very aggressive when in the presence of such people, so I just stay away. Sorry that good people have to put up with any of this crap. 2
ChrisTFM35 307
I'll be working on good questions related to Bob's creations. Jim, they are coming your way! 2
Walrus Gumboot 288
Bob, what are some of your memories and what do you like about the M 4.0t amp? Really, you could say anything about the 4.0t...I'd just like to hear you talk about it. 2
straylight 342
In the mid-2000s Bob was working on protoype vacuum tube amps and auctioning off several of his amps on ebay. During these auctions Bob sold off about six prototype pairs of rootbeer 180 mono amps but answered hundreds of questions submitted by ebay members. Every question was answered and it was a huge knowledge transfer to the audience of onlookers. It is great to hear a return to those exciting times. Bob has so much audio knowlegde and general wisdom to impart to the world that if we can tap even a mere fraction of a percent of that we will learn an amazing amount! Jim's expert audio build team also has been able to interact with Bob and bring his ideas to the light of day. There is a weath of inspiration and knowlege there too! timmyjim 43
I have a question for Bob. Actually - several questions related to Sunfire Load Invariant Amplifiers. 1) The output impedance "spec" of the voltage connection is listed as "Approximately zero". This could mean anything. Can he supply a ballpark guess? 0.1ohm? 0.01ohm? 0.001ohm? 2) The triac switched amps of the 1980s had up to 6 protection circuits, including "Speaker Protection". The Sunfire amps have only a thermal shutdown. Why the departure? I understand that it's fairly easy to shutdown the triac as compared to the conventional transformer scheme of the Sunfire. To use a digital term, I like the way you "wire-ored" a bunch of fault circuits together to get down to one final protection "switch". Certainly genius to use so few components to get that job done. Thank You Bob. Edited Wednesday at 11:57 PM by timmyjim
