It was time for me to get rid of my old Target stand, had it many years.

I saw an add on Canuck for Solid Tech stand $2500.00 cndv so I decided to purchase it.

It arrived yesterday, I assembled it this morning, boy it looks good.

What do you guys think?

That oughta hold everything in place. If it is sturdy, then I am a fan. Is it as heavy as it looks?

It's pretty sturdy, i'm going to fill the 4 larger post going to the TTwith sand

that way it will have more beef.

Get some lead or copper shot..., much better than sand, and it makes less mess (easier to pick up the dropped BB's.

@BrianT That stand, and the design arrangement looks awesome.  I really like how the two legs/platforms to the left and right hold the monoblocks/amps - in an integrated fashion.

Hey, Lee ( @xavionics) remember that idea we discussed about wings for monoblocks..., this is the design..., you can still have the swivel top for the RynoRax, just put the lazy-susan above the second tier in the center stack.

That's a good idea, I will look into it.

What great looking system!

I bet your wife will be happy to get her butcher block back in the kitchen!  :)

They did not come from her kitchen, purchased solely for the job of supporting both the amps.

Can I interest you in a free butcher block, you pay the shipping 😀

Fact is, that is really butcher block. You don't see the real thing very often, yet everyone seems to call just about everything out there butcher block. Same with dove tail joints. Doesn't seem to matter that they may actually be ordinary box joints, advertisement says dovetail. Ok, rant over.

I am with AJ about the shot. You have a great looking product there. So what did you do with the old rack?

It's in the garage, going to list it on Canuck to see if anyone local is interested for around $150.

I was checking out the price of shot, it's not cheap, any one where in Canada they sell it for a decent price.

Congrats on the new rack. I’m in a similar situation as you were. When I moved my system into a bigger room I retired my old vertical rack, that I designed to tuck into a small closet.

I then re-purposed an IKEA bookshelf with a couple of wood shelves to “temporarily” house my gear, with the intent to build a custom rack. That was a solid 3 years ago.

The rack you bought is a very cool design. One addition that I think would be cool is some sort of vertical chase for cable management. That would elevate the WAF to a solid 10.

Temporary 3 years ago, sounds like you work at the same speed as me 🙃

As for the cables, I purchased a Synergistic Powercell 12 UEF, and put a new shelf on the floor

and placed it on that under the Merason DAC, now all power cables head that way.

Please let me know if I should make a new thread, just seems like some good experience here to ask.

Purchased 2 fairly robust metal framed 32”high x48” long x 22” deep audio shelf sets.  Going to add some sound deadening directly behind them on the wall.  Put them next to each other, add 96” x24” x 3cm granite top sitting on a cork base. Each amp either has, or will have anti-vibration feet/ pads on the granite.
Then put the silver sevens(t) on the ends, then the tube sections of the silver sevens, then the power bricks, then the ram285 in the center. (Or bricks, or should I call them power modules(?) next to the SSt.s..)

shelves underneath will be for the pre-amp and source components.  Still wishy washy on the power.. that whole thing would take up a bit of real estate on the wall.  1 circuit on the wall, one circuit on each of the side walls.. All three of those are separate 15 amp.

I think I need more power though..

So if going to do that, I could just run a solar system with 10kw batteries and a 15kw inverter (45kw peak for a couple minutes) to a subpanel and run 3x20 amp circuits for the amps.(already own all the parts except the subpanel forward) , then use the existing 15 amp house circuits for the components through my current furmans.. Maybe cheaper to run the amps for one… also gets the amps off the utility company’s, poor, service.  I could put the Amps in the room behind that is on an outside wall and add a mini-split to the room for maintaining Amp temps.. and then just use a stand in the audio room for the components.

Thoughts?

Advice?
