After spending 10 days in Snohomish, testing and reviewing new products with Bob, the town really felt good. The air is clean, the mountains are beautiful, no sirens, and being with Bob was great. We had so much fun together. We have so much to talk about, that just sitting and having coffee was a great joy. Peggy, Bob's wife, has a career that is keeping her busy, giving Bob time on his hands. Bob is due to visit the Rockford factory in July and will try to visit once per year. When Bob and Peggy took me to the airport for the return flight to Chicago, it was tough to say goodbye for us, it was obvious.

Conversations since then, and a list of pros and cons, has made it quite clear that its best to start 285 production in Snohomish near Bob. Bob is semi-retired but can never stop doing what he loves. If we set-up in Snohomish over the new few weeks we will be fine for 285 production.

Bob enjoys his work. Instead of bringing Bob to the factory on occasion, we will bring the factory to Bob, so he can enjoy it and we can spend precious time together. Time with Bob is an opportunity not to be taken for granted. Bob's company will be near Bob and we can enjoy it together. Heading west.

@Ar9Jim sounds like exciting times for one and all and I am happy for all parties involved.

I took the liberty to look at the housing market in Snohomish to get the feel of the area. These are examples of what I found.

The area is beautiful.

My personal experience was my return to the USA after being over seas for 2 years. I was greeted with the views of Olympic National Forest in our approach to SeaTac. What a welcome home it was.

Exciting Times!!

Really is a contrast to a heavily manufacturing based city like Rockford. My wife is from the Philippines, so she has no issues with moving. She has no roots here and loves Bob and Peggy.

Snohomish is better.

  • The title was changed to Snohomish, WA. will continue to be the home of Bob Carver Co.

That's terrific, Jim. Really good news!

The downside is you'll have to defend the factory without an AR (unless Will brings his cat.)

Do you guys have a location picked out already? Will it be here in the town of Snohomish? sounds like a good move for all involved, I'd like to check out the new place once you're up and running.

The final location is yet to be decided. Bob's lab is in Snohomish, so the factory will be near there. Snohomish is about an hour's drive from his home near Seattle. When we are settled in, we can have lunch and check it out, Jesse.
