Diet is 100% key to weight loss you may work in the heat and sweat out a lot of water but you will quickly gain that back while rehydrating. It is simply= calories in have to be less than what you need per day consistently and over a period of time there are no shortcuts. It sucks it's like punishing yourself and if you go too far you'll lose some cognitive ability need to find a balance for what works it takes time.

I'm still hovering about 168/169. I think I'm gaining some muscle slowly as well since I'm working out too.

165 is my goal, but that might take a while if I keep working out!

I know it's not Monday (the day I usually check in)..., just thought I'd share something - we're all different.

So, to start, I sweat a lot in humidity and heat during the summer.  Weight swings can be as much as 7-8 lbs.  Yesterday, I busted it hard, outside, in 86 degree heat with an 89 degree heat index.  Within an hour, my hat and shirt and pants around the waist are soaked.

I hydrate constantly, consuming about a gallon of water every 2-3 hours.  I learned this the hard way, once a few years ago when my vision started to go wonky (eyeballs dehydrated, and the lens of my eyes changed shape momentarily), trying to get an outside project done, after my water jug emptied, and I was too lazy to fill it.

OK, so last night, after a shower coming in and cooling off, I posted a weight of 198.6lb.    Throughout the evening, I consumed another half gallon of water.  My Monday (the day before yesterday) weigh-in was 207.0 lbs.  After full rehydration, lots of fruit, and a good healthy evening meal (ribs, potatoes, beans and a salad in light quantities) for dinner, pre-breakfast this morning, my weight was 203.0 lbs.

Rain kept me from hitting the outdoors chore list hard today, so today weight is static, no dynamic swings.

I'm working on holding the weight drops - drops are a combination of cell dehydration as well as calorie burn - and I've got a BMI that doesn't fit the typical charts due to muscle mass, so calorie burn is higher than typical per the charts.  I bring in protein and other supplements to maintain muscle mass for the increased calorie burn more muscle mass can achieve.

I figure that overnight, body has recovered to a normal state.  So today's weight if I hold it, is a loss of 4 lbs from Monday.

Just sharing, some of the interesting dynamics I experience.  Not really anything else.

Weight is not static, that's for sure. In the last few weeks the temp has been rising enough to finally get me out of outdoor projects. It can be dangerous for me. I have learned to obey the rules of my body. Trouble is that leads to inactivity in a physical manner, and I find myself overeating (junk food) in excess....

I did not see this in myself until last night while watching TV, my mind wandered off a bit and it was then that I realized that I had a growing problem with money. This is part of many people's experience in life. We buy our way to happiness. Of course it is temporary if at all.

So now, I see that these two things might related problems, and both carry a debt.

I seem to be stuck in the 184-186 weight range. I've been going to the gym every other day for two hours so this may have something to do with it.

So I started a health journey on 7-29-23 and have dropped 8lbs already with diet and exercise. I am trying to lose 50lbs by the 2F20BCBD-186D-4346-B942-844F65BFE003.thumb.png.9e0f9a6bedac5229d0f2b0cac9dc7988.pngend of the year

My goal is to close my exercise ring (the green one) everyday for the month of august I think I’m off to a good start

I cheated yesterday. I was craving a hamburger. Haven’t had one in a long time. So I went to Burger King and got the Double Whopper. I’m still sitting at 181. Still within reach of making my goal of 180 by my anniversary.

Well, This is a bad Monday to count..., I went to the State Fair yesterday..., Springfield IL.  And, you know, they are the self-proclaimed "Ribeye Capital of the World."  and, damn, those ribeye steak sandwiches are good!

I'm net down from where we started this thread, but yesterday put 5 lbs back on - and I did not even have one single "funnel cake."

Stick with it and it should come back off

I have been bouncing between 179 and 181 but I have also been working on the line more these days which causes me to drink lots more water and eat more. I still have 2 weeks to hit 180.

Holding steady at 206.  Too many cookies.

The remainder of the week is going to be brutal heat and humidity, outside.  Working on the civil engineering project is going to drop some water weight this week.
