Greetings thecarversite members!  I had joined about ten years ago when I was busy restoring my dad's old MXR-130 reciever and needed technical advice.  My account was likely deactivated due to non- use as life situations changed pretty dramatically for me then.  But I'm back and so is my focus on my home audio equipment!  John from Massachusetts.

Hi AVGuy74, and welcome back to thecarversite.com.

The only reason accounts get deactivated is when someone gets banned. Sandboxing limits accounts, and both occurrences are rare except for spamming and bots. If you remember your old account login name, you can either post it here or pm it to me and I'll check the status for you. You could also check it yourself by clicking on "Community" on the top menu bar just below the top logo. That will open a sub-menu, and the selection you want would be "Members." That will take you to a "Members" and "New Members (or light activity)" area. If your old nom de plume is listed, you're still active.

We're glad you're back!

Welcome back! Do you still have the MXR-130?  Just curious.  I feel like the receivers from that era are underappreciated.   I have one and I love it (It's currenlty being enjoyed by one of my kids in college).

Thanks for the welcome!  I checked and my old username is not there (gofaster).  Did this site have a different URL 10-15 years ago?  When I tried to login (chrome saved my username) I got a 404 error.  I searched the carver site and came to this location.  Anyhow, I didn't get banned lol.  And my contributions were limited too since I joined when I got a pair of MXR-130s from him and needed information to fix them so no big loss on my old posts.

Yes, I still have the 130.  After restoring it I put it away after final testing and adjustments and only recently took it out of storage.  It now is the centerpiece of my old school/new school combo 2ch setup, with a TT, Cassette Deck and a network streamer.  I never have any issues with it, and I shouldn't given the amount of time and work I put into it:).  I'll never get rid of it.  I still love the way it looks and it sounds as good as it probably ever will, though I should probably find some speakers better suited for it (currently driving A/D/S L980's that really need an amp with a little more oomph).

There was another Carver forum, carveraudio.com, I believe it was. Is it possible that you were a member there?

This site has had the same URL for as long as I remember, but there have been 2 different hosts. I do recall that some things got lost in the migration from the previous host, but I don't recall if any usernames didn't survive. This site has been through at least 2 software upgrades as well.

I don't believe so.  When I first came here, Chrome tried to log me in to this site with my old username and password.  Maybe I was one of the unlucky few?  Not a huge loss as I didn't have a lot of posts.

On a side note, how does one create a signature?

Upper right hand corner of the page, click on your username, a menu will pop up, select "Account Settings", that will take you to a different page, and on the left hand side of the page will be another menu, and one of the selections will be "Signature" Click on that one, and it will take you to the editor where you can create one.

Welcome back!

We have a user named AvGuyTX.  But I think he's in texas.  Not very prolific lately, but he's still there, I think - was that you - perhaps?

What was your old handle? or email?  I can try to look you up and see about connecting your historical posts to your new account... (no promises).

Its funny to see how life is cyclical. We dont realize at the time, but old things do become new again! Old interests resurface! Welcome Sir. I am here as a newbie, but owned Carver C-1/M500t in the late 80's. Equipment long gone, but just picked up an M500t - old is new again!
