I'm trying to keep my old Carver equipment alive and found this site.

Over the years, I have replaced all my Heathkit equipment with Carver. The only Heathkit equipment remaining is the 19" rack in which everything is mounted.

I found a CT-28v on eBay to replace my CT-17 which developed a hum (another bad capacitor, I guess). When I acquired this CT-17 it was cheap and "for parts only". I was able to revive it by replacing lots of caps in the power supply. At some point you have to decide whether the amount of time spent on fixing things is worth the cost.

The amp is a Carver M-1.5t

My Home Theater has two AV-806X amps. One channel went out. I found a replacement board on eBay, however the board is not exactly the same. Did some research online. Hence, my introduction to this site!

Hi RudyB and welcome to thecarversite.com. Glad you found us!

There are several accomplished professionals and talented hobbyists that frequent this site, and hopefully one or more of them can help you out with your problems.

Feel free to start a repair thread in one of the proper forums, ask for advice, share your experiences...  Once you get to Novice status, you'll be able to post pictures of your experiences. You'll also be able to post pics of your system in the Members Systems area. We all like pics of of all kinds of stereo and home theater gear.

Welcome to C!
