Daddyjt 8,521
Sorry everyone, not trying to throw it out in front of you all again, but I didnt follow the correct format to get into "featured systems" the first time...
Gene C 1,743
Throw it out there, its all good. By the way, looks like you could use another A-400X in your stack to even the left side out. Might be able to help you with that.
Daddyjt 8,521
Gene, Are you looking to unload an A 400x?? I don't need one in the theater, BUT I would LOVE to replace the Adcom in the living room...
Gene C 1,743
Gene, Are you looking to unload an A 400x?? I don't need one in the theater, BUT I would LOVE to replace the Adcom in the living room... I was kinda kidding/serious. This was what i looked like when i bought it. Yes the toggle switch was replaced, was the whole reason i bought the amp to begin with. PM me if your serious and ill let it go to you for cheap. As long as you promise me you wont ever put it up for sale on ebay without selling it here first. I don't need to sell the amp, but i have no use for it now. Would rather see it get used in a good home, than sit in my closet.

Daddyjt 8,521
Wow Mark, Very nice !! Also really nice of Gene to look out for you and your system... LOL Thanks, Russell!Actually, Gene probably still has his 400x in the closet - I sent mine to Dan up in Alaska. I should probably update my photos - system has changed a bit in the past few months - my 35x went to Galaxyoilcan, the Denon went to Dom, and the 55x is running the family room Polk LS 70s.Now have three 1.0t mkIIs running L, C, R, and a 705x running the 4 RS 7s.Thanks for the interest. Ps, I have a set of Kappa 8.1s too, in my 2ch setup!

Gene C 1,743
Cool! Our hot tub in the back yard has a car stereo head unit with (2) 6 1/2 " drivers in it. The stereo never gets used but thought it was fucking hilarious to just leave it in there.
Daddyjt 8,521
Here's the current HT setup - my 2 ch rig is in shambles right now, as I'm recapping the Silver 9ts. Each of the front L, R, C is getting a bridged 1.0t mkII Opt 2, and the 4 surrounds are being run by the 705x.

Gene C 1,743
I see those speakers are 8 ohms nominal 250W RMS 1000W Peak. Do they have the dual binding posts or are those for the v2 only? If so, have you thought about going vertical with the amps instead of going mono? Would be interesting to see if you could hear a difference. fill35U 1,843
Ok Gene, here ya go. Current photos for living room rig. Enjoy! Mark, when it comes to laundry baskets, I find the yellow ones are a bit harsh in the upper midrange. At least they don't muddy the bass like the blue ones. And I see you've got the VTA set *almost* perfectly for the unit perched on top of the basket. Good job! BTW, did you know those RCA speakers are actually bass-reflex by design? You can tell by the writing around the woofers. Sometimes you have to pick the speaker up and spin it to read it, but it's worthwhile to find out what you've got. I'm jealous- I bet your system completely "obliterates fatiguing rightness"! And that setup with the three M-1.0t Mk II opt 2's is pretty badass, too! Would be interesting to see if you could hear a difference. Actually all three front speakers do have dual binding posts, and ARE vertically bi-amped -- I mis-spoke when I said bridged. I HAD them bridged at one point, and the bi-amping DOES sound better. Notably, the bass is quicker, and there seems to be more "openness" or "seperation" between the lows and highs, if that makes any sense. What I want to try, is running the low end of each main L&R with a BRIDGED 1.0t mkII, and running the highs with a single 500t mkII (One channel to each speaker's tweeter) -- As far as I know, this should work... The BIG step I am considering, is an active cross-over. I'll be honest, it kinda scares me to go into the speaker and bypass the passive cross-overs though. John Thant's one of my favorite movies! So many good lines, but my favorite has to be "If you can't tell who the sucker is in your first 30 minutes at the table, then YOU'RE the sucker!"
