Daddyjt 8,357
I prefer a horizontal arrangement when multi-amping as it allows one to choose the best amp for each frequency range. Say a small tube amp, M-200t or M-500(t) for the highs, an M-1.0t for the mids, and an M-1.5t or MKII for bass. I never thought about that... I will try a 500t mkII on the highs.... This could be interesting -- how many different amp combinations can we try...:-o

Daddyjt 8,357
You been playing with that WA6 you picked up from Steve yet? Not much...:-( I haven't spent more than about 8 hours with my system in the last 2 months. Between working 60-70 hrs getting the new store opened, and still keeping the amps moving across my bench, there hasn't been much free time. Things will get better here in a couple weeks, once grand opening is over...:-)

At Present I bi-amp in my set up. With one amp I run Low to lets say left speaker and hi's to Right speaker and on the other amp I do just the opposite, that way I feel the load is balanced between both amps. So what would that be called? Diagonal Bi-amping?
fill35U 1,842
I'm not exactly mindset on the phrase Vertical and horizontal bi-amping. Dom had a good explanation HERE . There's also a wealth of information in the links in THIS THREAD . At Present I bi-amp in my set up. With one amp I run Low to lets say left speaker and hi's to Right speaker and on the other amp I do just the opposite, that way I feel the load is balanced between both amps. So what would that be called? Diagonal Bi-amping? Yes, "diagonal biamping". BillD was a big proponent of this, and it makes sense to me.
Daddyjt 8,357
Cough, cough.... Someone needs to update their system thread. I have plans to swap the Marantz for the TGPIII, get the 9ts into the mix, and get my TT off the floor. Then its just a matter of picking speakers

Daddyjt 8,357
Is your ceiling tall enough to over end those Kappa 9's on top of one another? Ya know... I think I COULD wedge them in there, one on top of the other.... I think I should invert the top one, so they're standing SEMIT to SEMIT...:-)

That's how some have done in the past, mostly with the K8's. Would have to anchor the bottom of the cabinet to the ceiling, don't think the full 200lbs on one base at that angle is a good idea. Daddyjt 8,357
I've been sitting on my freshly modded C1 that Brian did for me for farrrr too long. The arrival of the Road Show 490t from Gene gave me the excuse I needed to assemble the system below. I threw it together because I'm really too busy to tear my main system apart right now. I will be working the 490t into the main system in the near future though. Listened to just about all of disc 1 of Carversite Reference disc. For a "mix n match" thrown together system, I have to say the sound quality was incredible! Some of the best imaging I've heard, and stunning clarity B-Man C1 Gene refreshed 490t 500t mkII Klipsch RF7 pair Hodge Podge cables

zumbini 6,092
The system may be physically small but an M-500 MKII should sound really big through those RF7's. Might wanna add some risers between components to let them breath.

Oh sorry, thought I was in my local audio store for a minute there. Beginning to see where all the K9's are since joining this site This is a highly addictive place to hang out. Since joining here, I've acquired both sets of kappa 9s, the AL IIIs, AL Silvers, Kappa 8.1s, and the kappa 5s.I blame Gene for the hole in my wallet, but it's not all him (but he IS the biggest contributor... NOT the guy to call if you want someone to talk you out of buying something...!)

If you are going to display them, you gotta dress 'em up !!! I don't know if the USPS is running here today - I woke up to 6 1/2" of the white stuff - a definite unusual event for this area.
