Daddyjt 8,513
I will go for this, so we can fill in the gaps in the library...
B-Man 4,759
Hey Mark - add $50 from me to the bidding kitty. It will help us all and I am POSITIVE these will end up selling for a lot more than where they are right now... Of course, getting them added to the library here will be a chore. I do have a decent scanner so I am able to offer help, but we should discuss if / when you win the auction. Thanks for heading this up - I think it could end up being good for everyone here. I will PayPal you whenever you decide you need it.

Bean 383
I've got access to a very high quality color/black and white scanner through work (we do everything electronically here w regards to mail coming in and going out). I'd be glad to scan them in color/black and white and it shouldnt be to big a chore. Then I can burn em on a CD or email them depending on size and mail em to whoever w the originals.
weitrhino 1,422
This is nice. I'm happy to share in the purchase burden as well. I'm going to ask the seller to list the actual manuals in this set so we can compare to what is missing from the library. It could be he doesn't have anything more than we already have. Meanwhile about 10 minutes later........... OK, so I asked the seller to list which manuals were actually included noting that many are common and easily obtained. This was his reply: Hello and thank you for your interest. The manuals are so large and full of model numbers, I just don't have the time to go through all of them. If I did, I would sell them individually as they are typically not available. As I noted on the listing I am fairly certain it is a complete set due to the fact that service organization kept such good complete manuals for ALL of the manufacturers they serviced. If you want to know of a few (up to three) models are included, I will check for you. This is a one-time shot to get all of those manuals at one very low price. Thanks again and good luck bidding!- sbbrown1
Daddyjt 8,513
Thanks guys! This is a little tangled - Ken jumped on it with the opening $50 bid, erasing (temporarily) a $170 BIN. Since they are in Scottsdale, I've been in contact with Gene to see if he can go scope them out and see if they are what we need... More to come. Gene C 1,743
I spoke to Stan (the seller) he is helping with liquidating a service shop, apparently they worked on Carver gear but were not exclusive to it. I told him I could come by Sat but he said I could call him on the phone and ask him which ones he had and he could read them off. So Mark I'll shot you his # and you can call him this weekend if you have time and have him tell you what he has while your staring down the library. I let him know that Bob Carver just donated all his Carver/Phase Linear service schematics to a member for copying to PDF files, so the manuals were not too rare for us. Trying to play it down so he doesn't get ridiculous with expectations. Also will be nice when James converts all the Sunfire schematics to PDF from the DVD he has them on, seeing since Bob said it was ok now, would like to see those in the library too. Zoom 372
Add my $25 to the kitty if we need these...... They look to be a decent set someone here should stash.
Chuck 74
I figured you guys might be interested in this, I usually get on E-bay once a day (or more) and the first thing I check is the Carver equipment When this popped up I immediately thought of The Caver Site and the good people here and that these could make a very good addition to the site library I didn't know what may be needed or what the seller actually had, but it looked like a good score
Community Admin AndrewJohn 7,211 Posted January 7, 2015 Community Admin Share Posted January 7, 2015 Thinking of the 80-20 rule... The last 20% of the library gaps will be filled with 80% of the effort, lots of eyeballs scanning the usual sources, collaboration and cost. Cool to see we're all in on that... Mark, Gene, Greg, I'm in for $ donation to support acquisition & scanning with the goal of sharing in the library (mentioned to Mark in PM a couple nights ago). I have a couple more things I found not in the library to scan and upload myself... Gotta' get on that.
4krow 4,395
I think that this is a really cool find. Hopefully it will fill in the gaps where needed. If only there is a service maual for the H9, and DTL. That would be my interest.
tkd.teacher 93
Put me in for $30 if needed as well, and I work in Scottsdale and can easily pick them up just about any day. John

compwaco 1,128
I was the first ($50) bid but I will not be bidding again. My goal was to see them end up here in the library so hopefully Mark will win them.

compwaco 1,128
You should bid on them. The goal is for them to end up in the library here and I'm sure you will bid more than I am able to.
4krow 4,395
Since our goal is the same (getting this material in the hands of this site), then it shouldn't matter so much as to who wins, but that they end up here. Am I correct in assuming that many of us would pool our money in order to accomplish this? Or that the person who won would be reimbursed by the others? Since I have limited experience in a site activity such as this I am only guessing.
Daddyjt 8,513
Yes, my plan is to get every one of them (that we need) into the library. I will cover the cost - if it gets too high, I may accept the offers for help...
Chuck 74
I wish I would had just brought them at the $170 Buy It Now Price when I first seen it but I have quite a few things on my plate now trying to save for my move back to Tennessee, If I would had brought them my intentions was to donate them to the site anyhow because I do not have enough knowledge to make good use of them but I will put in Twenty to help, just let me know how and when
peck555 366
I'd be willing to donate $25 to the endeavor, just PM me when it's needed, or post where to donate.
Chuck 74
Heads Up, we have a new bidder that bidded last night Might be better to use a sniping program on this, that is what I usually use and it has befitted me greatly Raise my donation to $25 too
