I have a Carver reciever with an intermittent left channel. Messed with all of the controls, and the mute button was acting up. I opened it up and cleaned all of the controls and switches. I turned it on and it worked fine, so let it play for a couple of hours. I closed it up, and put it in my system, and it worked about 20 minutes til the left was out again. Same thing with the mute button...
Repeat a few more times, and I can actually press down on the chassis, and make the channel go in and out. I have resoldered everything on the board. Still comes and goes. I suspect the crunchy cable connecting the bass treble and mid control board beneath it may be the culprit. Any ideas on replacing it? Can I buy the correct cable, or do I make my own ribbon cable? Thanks in advance
