Probably propaganda to increase iTunes sales LOL. They want the icing AND the cake.

So anywhere there is not 4G or WiFi service or when service is saturated, you'll be SOL? Doesn't make sense (to me).

This recording on original vinyl has some amazing soudstage and deep, deep bass. I can't believe they were able to master this record with those low notes!

Yep, BIG Thank You to Greg! Thanks for getting us through that web host coup! Considering everything that happened let's all be glad/thankful that only a handful of posts were lost, not the entire archive. Thanks again Greg!

So do we go back to calling him "The Artist Formerly Known As..."? (Sorry J/K, couldn't resist!)
Don't know why he ever wanted to change his stage name, but his he was a talented musician, and will be missed. Was the name "Prince" supposed to be short for "Prince of Funk" or ?

" this is one of my all time favorite CDs"
Great album Steve. I just bought the SACD for $20 (new) and will probably pick up the vinyl version too.
I say try the black dot AND buy another one new for 5 bucks (since it is your fav). Or if u have a SACD player, purchase that format as it sounds amazing.
Let us know how the vinyl version soundsThe original Vinyl of Brothers in Arms is spectacular, glad I bought it way back when it was new. It's probably one of the last new vinyl albums I bought before switching to CD'S

Yes, this is the record I bought:I've listened to it once, but SH was turned on. I read the back cover after listening to it and the description about "Phase X". Can't find any more info about what "Phase X" does, the recording is from 1960. I'll listen again with SH off, but when it is I already get strong center image with standard stereo records.

I ran across a record recorded with "Phase X" by a company called Grand Award. It says it fills the hole between the speakers and improves soundstage compared to standard stereo recordings. Was this an early form of Holography?
