Hi All,
New member here. Big into cars and guitars, and if course live listening to music as well. I was using an 80s vintage JVC receiver cant remember the model) through Yamaha speakers until last year when a moving accident ended the receiver.
A relative happen to have an MXR-130 in mint condition that he GAVE me. Very generous of him.
Anyway, last month my wife asked my 5 year old son to turn the volume down (normally not allowed to touch the stereo cabinet). Not his fault but he turned it down past the limit and now the volume control is binding. I took the covers off and visually inspected the pot (?) and there are frayed wires spun around the axis.
I contacted an outfit near me that can work on these units, but it sounds like Id need to spring for a package deal including some upgrades and refresh for other parts.
He declined to sell me the part alone, which I understand.
Does anyone know where to locate a volume board or even the pot(?) itself?
It sounded spectacular when it worked so id hate to just part the thing out.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
