  1. How rude of me, welcome to the site @schuitema. I really enjoyed hearing how you use the C9 as always on.
  2. This has renewed my interest in the C9. I never forgot auditioning one back in the 80s. It really left a huge audio impression on me. If I pick one up can plug it into the pre out main in area on my MXR-130 ? Also 4krow mentioned upgrading rca connections but to what exactly ? Seems like the rca would make for an easy connection to the MXR 130. It looks like many of the C9s I am seeing have no rack handles but do have slotted holes so they were designed to actually mount in a rack ? Are the sides with the rack mounting slots removable to leave you with a regular rectangle enclosure ? And lastly sorry this is kind of alot but I got excited. 😊 I am listening near field only will the effect be as noticeable this way ? Im literally 3 feet from my ADS L780s toed in and I sit at the triangle point. Thanks in advance for your time and comments !

  4. Welcome and congratulations on your retirement !
  5. Welcome and Happy Holidays from Northern CA.
  6. Thank you Half Life. It is nice to see so many people capable of doing their own repairs here. I wish I had more time and energy to devote to it but at this point in my life, I really need to be honest with myself and use a pro. I will reach out to Nelion and see what they have to say.
  7. Thank you jmcipale, happy to have found thecarversite.com
  8. Thank you Rob. So Nelion audio does service the MXR-130. I must reach out to them. Once I get it restored it will see plenty of use again I am sure of that.
  9. I really cannot wait to have the work done and start enjoying music on it again. I was I pretty young man when I purchased it and I miss how it drove my speakers, great dynamics. I noticed over the years the little detent feeling in the volume knob seemed to go smooth at the first quarter turn. Would like to get that back again if possible. Thanks for the welcome Sk1Bum.
  10. Hello everyone, I just joined the site and have no clue if I am doing anything correctly. I might as well get straight to the point. I purchased a MXR-130 "The Receiver" new back in the 80`s. It has never had a major service and currently will not power up. I am in Northern California and have contacted Hi-Tech Audio as they seem to be the closest option. I did not see the MXR-130 listed on Nelion Audio website so I am unsure if they service this unit. Was wondering if anyone can point me to any threads as I am wondering what I might expect in terms of additional life on this unit after servicing. Are there typical issues that pop up and or any mods that might be compatible. Thank you in advance for your time and Happy Holidays.
