Anymore, 99.9% of my music is local digital and served up from Lyrion Music server. I can either use the jump list on the left or the scroll bar on the right. No more flipping through vinyl or CD's, they're all safely stored away.

I think my brother got this on some sampler record that came in his Columbia "membership" I'm thinking about 1971, I would have been 20 so that seems about right. And yes, the version that I have is a studio with more content than this video.

All my music is local, 1,800+ albums. I run Lyrion Music Server (formerly Logitech Media Server) to play my music either individually across my several clients or synced so selected clients play the same thing. It has plugins for Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify, no Amazon. WiiM devices except for WiiM Mini, WiiM Sub Pro, and WiiM Vibelink Amp natively support Lyrion as renderers. You can also build a renderer using a Raspberry Pi. The WiiM devices that don't directly have support for Lyrion can be used via the Lyrion UPnP support. Lyrion can access just about any radio station worldwide that has an internet presence. The Lyrion server can be installed on most any type computer, Windows, MAC, Linux, etc. Lyrion supports just about all music file formats, FLAC, WAV, ALAC, MP3, etc. From what I've read it seems that the biggest difference between Lyrion and Roon is the price, Lyrion is free for both the server software and Squeezelite client renderer software, which is also available for most OS platforms.

You know what they say... Patience is a virtue. I did get a response! And they must be swamped. I'm scheduled for November. Anybody have an idea on mitigating the transformer hum in the meantime? I did read somewhere that one user found that rotating the plug 180 degrees reduced their hum, but my plug is an AC polarity plug and only goes in one way. Was the inverting m-1.0t have a non-polarity AC plug?

Well, I now have these hooked up and am pretty happy with what I'm hearing from my ADS L810's! I've had it pretty loud, but have yet to see the meters jump to anything, just the base LED's lit. The M-1.0t does have a very audible hum. I've eliminated a ground loop as the cause. I've sent Nelion a service message per their site instructions a few days ago and while they're at it, I figured the mkII upgrade and signal path upgrade would be good to add to the base restore. Wondering how quickly Nelion typically responds to email as I've heard nothing yet? And yes, I've checked for a response landing in spam.

First dumb question. This welcome section, or better stated, this thread seems to be as good a place as any for my questions regarding what I've bought but haven't yet received? Or should I be asking questions somewhere else? And I appreciate all the welcomes from you all! Comment: I've eyed Carver with some envy for years (decades) but never felt I could justify buying higher quality gear than I have. The only "extravagant" piece I ever bought back in the mid 1980's was my ADS L810's which I really like but have never had real power to drive them. Well, I pulled the trigger and bought the 2 Carver pieces in my sig. and am pretty excited for them to arrive and get hooked up, probably Saturday. Second question: The M-1.0t that I bought is serial # 70902593 (with stereo/mono switch), looks brand new from the pictures. Google says M-1.0t's were US made, but the picture posted of the rear clearly shows Made in Japan. I have no issues with Made in Japan and typically find their manufacturing as good or better than USA made. Since this is probably a "later date" build I'm wondering what kind of differences would have been made in circuit design, things like correcting the power on/off "thump". Was this ever done in the original manufacture specs or was "thump" correction always a repair thing? Curious minds have a need to know.

Always wanted a little more power than my old Kenwood KA-405 55 watt integrated amp to drive my old ADS-L810's and now in a position to afford an upgrade. Just pulled the trigger on a Carver C1 preamp and a Carver M-1.0t with the switch on the back. Over the years I've read a bunch of stuff on Bob Carver, gear designs and some the challenges he gave to the "tube purist's". So looking forward to hooking these up! Would it be better to stack the amp on the preamp due to heat from the amp, seems to make sense? Wilkes

I'm also thinking of trying Sonic Holography. The C1 preamp seems like it would be just fine for me. In reading the C1 manual it sounds like the use of SH requires specific positioning of the speakers in relation to the listener and would be more for "individual critical listening". Then for casual listening in a social setting it would probably be best to shut off SH. Does this make sense?

Thank you all. My use would be a single amp with 2 speakers (ADS L810's) attached left and right. Just hook them up per normal + to + and - to - for both left and right on the pre 4500 amp or the same on a newer than 4500 amp with the switch in Stereo position, correct?

Hi all, I'm old and retired but have always thought Carver had great products! I'm looking to get a preamp and amp. Been looking at the M1.0t amp and notice there's a pre and post version from serial # 4500. The post 4500 serial # has a switch for mono vs stereo that isn't on the pre SN # 4500 units. If connecting 2 speakers (stereo) should the + and - match or are the left and right channels out of phase? If out of phase, should one of the speakers be connected reversed? Wilkes
