@Dennis47 Yes, about one or two years ago I wrote to them. I told them how much I liked their products and asked what they thought about the possibility of building an amplifier myself directly from their circuits, rather than restoring an existing unit. My idea was to build the power amplifier section and control it using the White Oak circuitry.
Honestly, I expected them to support the idea and offer whatever assistance might be necessary to achieve that goal, but it was quite the opposite—it was rather discouraging. The response was something along the lines of, "If you know what you're doing, then go ahead." That wasn't the kind of answer I was expecting, especially considering the amount of money involved in a project like this.
So, I eventually abandoned the project and may pursue something of my own in the future.
