Greetings. I recently unboxed the Carver HR-722 Receiver and TL-3200 that I bought in the early 90s. They have not been powered up for many years but now I live in a house where I can set up a decent audio room so I thought I would bring them back to life. I'm sure the receiver needs capacitors. While I'm no stranger to that kind of work, I'm hoping to find some guidance in the forums. I found the schematic and service manual here so I am very thankful for that.
I remember shopping for my audio gear back in the 90's. I spent a lot of time at the local audio store listening and doing A/B comparisons. I finally narrowed it down to a "high end" Sony receiver and the Carver HR-722 and I came home with the Sony. I hooked it up and realized almost immediately that the receiver was not up to the task. So I took it back and came home with the Carver gear. I listen to my collection of vinyl and CDs but I really enjoy the quality and diversity of music I hear on my local public radio stations.
